He also worked as a reserve officer for the Michigan State Patrol in Iron River for several years. Spencer enjoyed the many hours he spent carving with a circle of friends at the Senior Center in Green Bay. In particular, he enjoyed the company of a special friend and companion, Roger Young. He was a lifelong hunter, fisherman and woodsman. He spent hours sitting on stumps waiting for the perfect buck. He spent countless hours attempting to catch fish day after day, year after year, never tiring of the activity. He particularly enjoyed fishing for coho and brown trout with friends in Algoma, Kewaunee and Sturgeon Bay. A good friend named Don Piette joined him often on the shorelines and docks in Kewaunee. He enjoyed the camaraderie even more than the fishing. Spencer was survived by two sons. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; two brothers, Carl and Clarence; and a sister, Elizabeth.
