Theodore E. Moser of Theresa, Dodge County, Wisconsin, USA passed away at his home surrounded by his wife and children on Wednesday, 10 June 2009. He was born at home in Allenton, Washington County 75 years previous on 30 March 1934 to Theodore F. Moser and Stella A. Wiedmeyer. Theodore was graduated from Hartford Union High School, class of 1951. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On 25 September 1958, Theodore married Margaret Dehler at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels. He loved the outdoors, gun collecting and gun smithing, hunting, fishing, photography, reading and spending time with his grandchildren. Teodore was a member of Allenton Fohl-Martin American Legion Post 483, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a board member for the American Milk Producers, Inc. and served on the town of Addison Appeals Board. Theodore was survived by his wife, Marge, and six children. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Edward and Robert; brother, Leon and two nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday 15 June 2009 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Allenton where the Reverend Richard J. Stoffel officiated. Burial with full military honors followed at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Nenno.

William was born 73 years previous on 08 July 1936 in Eland, Shawano County to Richard R. and Linnea M. Schultz. He married Katharina Otto on 14 Novvember 1959 in the United States Army Chapel in Aschaffenburg, Germany. William is survived by his wife, Katharina, and four children. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Bill was a member of the class of 1954 at Bowler High School, Bowler, Shawano County. His first year of college was spent at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Rice County, Minnesota, his sophomore and junior years were at Lawrence College, Appleton, Outagamie County, Wisconsin and his last year at the University of Maryland, European Campus in Germany.
Williaim enlisted in the United States Army in 1957 and served until 1965, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served nearly five years in West Germany as a reconnisance specialist, his last duty as tank section leader and tank commander. He also served as the Assistant Director of American Youth Activities in Aschaffenberg, Germany for two and a half years. Following his service in Germany, he was assigned as Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Army Reserve Units in Scottsburg and Madison, both located in Indiana. Following his service in the Army, Bill was a Field Director for the Illinois Heart Association of Bellville, Illinois, for three years, followed by 35 years in the financial services industry. He worked as a district representative for Aid Association for Lutherans and Lutheran Brotherhood for more than 25 years. After retiring in 1997, he took courses to become a chef. He worked for a French-trained executive Chef in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
William was past president of the Rotary Club of Hancock, Houghton County. He was also the finance chairman of the Copper Country Senior American Coalition, a coalition of Lutheran congregations, Suomi College and Lutheran Social Services serving the elderly in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. William served on church councils in Hancock and was an active member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Hartford, Van Buren County. He taught Sunday school classes, summer adult Bible Class and served on the Board of Stewardship. Wiliam was a member of the Hartford Courtney-Carr-Milner American Legion Post 16.
Visitation was at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Hartford on Friday, 03 April 2009 foillowed by a funeral service where the Reverend Ricky Schroeder officiated.

While in college, Noel was honored to serve in the United States Army. He later attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he earned a master degree in business administration. Noel and Judy moved to Cedarburg in 1976. He served on various city of Cedarburg boards and commissions, and he was involved in numerous activities and organizations including the Cedarburg Lions Club, Ozaukee County Jail Literacy Program and the Ozaukee Chapter of the Great Lakes Sports Fishermen. Noel was also proud to serve as Cedarburg’s Common Council Representative for the Third District. He is survived by Judy, his wife of 40 years, and their two children. Noel was a member of the Cedarburg Peter Wollner American Legion Post 288.

Phillip was born on 31 July 1936 in Antigo, Langlade County, son of Reinhold and Leona (Prehn) Zangl. He graduated from Antigo High School in the class of 1955. Phillip served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1955 to 1961. On 07 September 1957, he was united in marriage to Barbara Young in Merrill. Phillip worked as a machinist at Pabst Brewery for 32 years before retiring in 1996. He was a family man who in his free time enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and working on cars and motorcycles.

He was survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elaine, and their six children. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Stefanovic. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, 01 July 1, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church which was preceded by a Knights of Columbus Third Degree Prayer Service. Burial, with military graveside rites by members of the Kewaskum Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 followed in the parish cemetery.

Frederick Carl Kaul of Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA died on Wednesday, 04 February 2009. Federick was born 83 years previous on 07 June 1925 in the town of Grafton to Arnold and Gertrude Kaul. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Grafton High School in 1943. Frederick served in the United States Army in 1945 and 1946, and was stationed in Panama. He was a member of the Grafton Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355 until the time of his death. Frederick married Arline Grisar at St. Paul Lutheran, Grafton, while on furlough with the temperature of minus 20 on 02 February 1946. In 1949, they moved to Arline’s parents’ farm in the town of Grafton and farmed together raising purebred Guernsey dairy cows. He took agriculture classes through the University of Wisconsin-Extension and was one of the first farmers in Ozaukee County to practice contour strip farming to prevent erosion. Together they built up one of the best Guernsey herds in the state of Wisconsin until Minnesota Governor Al Quie bought the herd in 1978. Frederick continued raising Hereford cattle and cash crops on the farm with his son until he physically could not do it. He was involved in the Clover-leaf 4-H Club, Ozaukee County Guernsey Breeders, and Ozaukee County Farm Bureau.
Frederick was a firm believer in public service. He was elected to the Grafton Town Board in 1957, then elected chairman from 1967 to 1988 and was awarded the Outstanding Citizen Award of Grafton in 1988. He was elected to the Ozaukee County Board of Supervisors and held that position from 1981 to 2008. While on the board he chaired the Highway and Public Works committees, as well as serving on seven other Ozaukee County committees.
Frederick was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. He served the Lord as an elder and school board member.
Frederick was the husband of 63 years to Arline Grisar and father of four children. A funeral service was held on Sunday, 08 February 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington Street, Grafton. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Fritz Kaul’s legacy is not only evident in all his accomplishments while on earth, but how he led others to be the best they could be. His style of leadership through honesty, humbleness, fairness and love served him well and prove to be a shining example to his family, friends, co-workers and community.

Helen was born 86 years earlier on 22 September 1922 in Madison, Dane County, the daughter of Frank P. Hillebrandt and Mary E. Sarahan. She attended Madison East High School, class of 1939. Helen then attended Edgewood College for one year and University of Wisconsin, Madison Campus, for one more year. Later she entered the United States Coast Guard and served during WW II. On 10 September 1949 Helen was united in marriage to Robert John Schmitt at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Madison. She taught school at St. Nicholas Grade School in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County before working as an administrative assistant for Nicolet High School in Glendale for 18 years. Helen is survived by her husband, Robert, and their three children. Preceding Helen in death were her parents and her brother, Charles Hillebrandt. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, 18 March 2009 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church where Father Jeffrey Haines officiated. Entombment took take place at Ledgeview Cemetery in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County. Helen was a member of the West Bend Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post 36.

On 02 October 1943 he was united in marriage to Ruth Stachowiak in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. Edward served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and also in the United States Air Corps. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels and the Knights of Columbus Father Casper Rehrl Council No. 1964 West Bend. He was one of the founding members of the Milwaukee George Washingt Bay View Post 180 and was a member of the Kewaskum Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384. Edward enjoyed photography and was the owner and operator of Art Craft Studio in Milwaukee. He was the first baby photographer at St. Luke Hospital in Milwaukee. Edward was employed by Delco in Milwaukee, retiring in 1983 after 27 years of service. He was survived by his wife, Ruth, of 65 years and their two children. Edward was preceded in death by a brother, Paul, an infant twin brother, Steve, a brother-in-law, Eugene Zamjahn, and a sister-in-law, Irene Kuklinski. A memorial Mass was celebrated on Thursday, 19 February 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Military honor rites by members of the Kewaskum Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 followed. Inurnment took place in the parish cemetery.

Visitation was at the Slinger funeral home on Wednesday, 08 April with a Richfield Fire Department walk-through.

Dr. William A. Nielsen of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA passed away at the age of 87 years on Thursday, 26 March 2009 at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford. He was born in West Bend on 31 May 1921 to C.I. Nielsen and Florence Schennum. William attended West Bend High School and was graduated in the class of 1939. He attained the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. William attended the University of Wisconsin Madison Campus and was graduated from the School of Medicine in 1945. While in medical school, he served his country in the United States Army. During his medical education he met Margaret Prehn and they married 12 August 1944 in the First Presbyterian Church in Wausau, Marathon County. Upon graduation, he completed an internship at the Germantown Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Post-internship training was performed at the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey Following training, he returned to West Bend, where he practiced medicine for 47 years at the General Clinic of West Bend and on the medical staff of St. Joseph Community Hospital.
Dr. Nielsen” served in numerous leadership positions; the Washington County Medical Society, the State Medical Society of Wisconsin, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association. He served on the City of West Bend Board of Health as Chairman and as Health Officer for 31 years, having received the “Key to the City” in recognition and appreciation of service to the city of West Bend. Dr. Bill served on the Area Health Planning Committee of Southeastern Wisconsin. He was the Medical Consultant for the Washington County Health Committee. He also served the West Bend School System as the West Bend High School Team Physician from 1948 to 1978, for which he received an award in 1979 from the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association in appreciation for years of “Distinguished Service to High School Athletics”. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the West Bend Art Museum, the Washington County Historical Society, the UW-Madison Alumni Association, the UW-Washington County Alumni Association, the Cedar Lake Yacht Club, the West Bend Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post 36, the West Bend Noon Kiwanis Club, and member and past president of the West Bend Country Club.
He was survived by his wife, Margaret, and their four children. Dr. Nielsen was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Chet and Eleanor Nielsen; his sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Deane Bascom; and a brother-in-law, Robert Barrington. A service and celebration of Dr. Nielsen' life was held on Monday, 30 March 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 North 7th Avenue. Inurnment was held in Washington County Memorial Park.
