Funeral services were held yesterday (05 October 2005) at Grace Lutheran Church in Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, for Joseph L. Masnaghetti Jr. of Grafton, who was born to eternal life at his home on Friday, 30 September 2005 at the age of 78. Interment took place at Silver Lake Cemetery in Portage, Columbia County. Joseph was born in Bessmer, Michigan on 26 October 1926, son of Joseph L. and Irene (U’Ren) Masnaghetti Sr. He was united in marriage to Elenore Marie (Sarbacker) Masnaghetti, in Crown Point, Indiana. Joseph served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1947. He graduated from Marquette University in 1952 with a degree in liberal arts. While attending Marquette, he played tackle as well as place-kicker for their football team. Joseph holds the university’s team record for kicking the most field goals in a single quarter. After college, he played pro football for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In the mid-1950s, Joseph ended his pro football career and began working at Joseph Schlitz Brewery (Stroh Brewery Company). He worked in the area of military and export sales, first within the United States and then internationally. He was employed by the Pabst Brewery Company before his retirement. In his twilight years, Joseph enjoyed spending his Thursday evenings with the members of Grace Lutheran Church in Grafton. He was an avid golfer, and one of the founding members of the "Grafton Coffee Club." Joseph will truly be missed by all who knew him. He was survived by his three children, five grandchildren; sister Lois Wray; sisters-in-law Marilyn Masnaghetti and Jean (Dennis) Schrank; and cousins Connie and Jacky. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Elenore; brother Raymond; and brother-in-law Thomas Wray.

Thomas D. Slaugenhoup

Thomas D. Slaugenhoup of Kewaskum, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 78 years on Friday, 07 October 2005 at ManorCare Health Services in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County. Thomas was born on 12 May 1918 in East Brady, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, son of Roy and Myra (Heil) Slaugenhoup. On 06 February 1946, he was united in marriage to Rose Wornardt in West Bend, Washington County. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army in the European Theater and in North Africa during World War II. He was employed for many years by Stolper Industries in Menomonee Falls, and he was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Tom will fondly be remembered as a great storyteller and for the beautiful roses in grew in his yard. He was survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rose of Kewaskum; one son, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Clare Slaugenhoup and a sister, Alma Close. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Reverend Timothy Henning officiated. Burial followed on Wednesday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Family and friends called at
the church prior to the service.

Jeremiah T. Oestreich

Jeremiah T. Oestreich of Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 27 years on Saturday, 08 October 2005 in Minocqua as the result of an ATV accident. He was born on 11 February 1978 in Hartford, son of James and Janice (Wierl) Oestreich. Jeremiah attended schools in Hartford and graduated with the class of 1996 from Hartford Union High School. He served two years active duty in the United States Army in field artillery. Jeremiah graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He received his teaching certification from Silver Lake College in 2005. He was a substitute teacher in the Hartford School District. On 23 October 2003, Jeremiah married the former Kristin O’Connor in Manitowoc. He was a member of OUI Wisconsin Old North West Company. Jeremiaah enjoyed traveling, historical re-enactments, leisure activities and, most importantly, he loved spending time with his wife. Funeral services were on Friday, 14 October 2005 at St. Francis Assisi-Waldo Site, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc, where Reverend Dave Hoffman officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Jeremiah was accorded military services after the funeral mass. Relatives and friends called on Thursday, 13 October 2005 at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc. A prayer service was held by Deacon Rich Bahnaman. Visitation continued on Friday at the church prior to the Mass.

Donald Zywicki

Donald Zywicki, also known as Don, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 74 years on Friday, 14 October 2005 at SynerghHealth St. Joseph Hospital, town of Polk. Don was born to Dominic and Stella (Gruenweller) Zywicki on 10 December 1930 in Milwaukee where he was raised. He served his term with the Army National Guard and was then drafted and served with honor and pride in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On 18 June 1966, Don married the love of his life and best friend Jean E. Hartwig in Milwaukee. The couple lived in Milwaukee for eight years, moving to the West Bend area in 1970. Don was employed as an auto mechanic for Russ Darrow Auto Group and Bob’s Auto. He enjoyed many hobbies and could "fix" everything. Don was an avid fisherman and treasured the family vacations at Trout Lake, but above all he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was survived by his wife, Jean of West Bend; three children, and three grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Dominic and Stella Zywicki; his father-in-law, Christ Hartwig; a brother, Richard; a brother-in-law, Ray Zahn, and nephews, Dr. Richard Kurz, William Pies and Alan Pies. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, 19 October at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, West Bend. Father Gerald Brittain officiated. Cremation was at Paradise Cremation Services with interment of ashes at Southeast Veterans Administration Cemetery in Union Grove. Visitation was at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service.

Paul J. Beistle
M, b. 27 October 1934, d. 13 October 2005
Paul J. Beistle of Slinger, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, entered eternal life peacefully in the embrace of the Lord after fighting a courageous battle with renal cancer for 14 years, on Thursday, 13 October 2005 at his home. He was 70 years old. Paul was born on 27 October 1934 in West Bend, son of John and Marie (Van Beek) Beistle and raised in Slinger, where he graduated with the class of 1955. After high school, Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1962. He married the love of his life and best friend, Helen R. Kubicek on 04 May 1957 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger. After his discharge from the service, he worked for his uncle, Willy Weis of Weis Hardware, before embarking on a career as a maintenance engineer and supervisor for the water department of the Village of Fox Point, retiring in 1990. He also worked part time hauling milk on the weekends for various companies. Paul began his tenure with the village of Slinger as a village trustee in June of 1974 to June of 1989, serving as the village president from June of 1974 to June of 1978. During the time he was a village trustee, he was also on the Village Parks and Recreation Board. He was then appointed to the Village Planning Commission from June of 1989 to April of 2003, and appointed as a member of the village’s Board of Appeals Committee, where he still held a position until his death. In 1991, he was appointed to the Housing Authority Committee, of which he was currently still a member. Paul volunteered with the Slinger Fire Department from November of 1963 until August of 1984. While acting as Washington County supervisor from April 1990 to the present, Paul was instrumental in developing Washington County Golf Course, Washington County Fair Park and the Washington County Jail expansion project. He was a member of the Slinger Veterans of Foreigh Wars Zunker-Held Post 3358, Loyal Order of Moose 1398 of West Bend, retired member of the Slinger Fire Department, lifetime member of St. Peter Catholic Church of Slinger, Thursday night men’s bowling league at Kettle Moraine Bowl and Sunday afternoon softball league. He
was survived by his cherished wife of 48 years, Helen; six children, 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Ludwig and Elizabeth (Postl) Kubicek; a brother, John; a sister, Jeanette Weinberger; two brothers-in-law, William Kubicek and Ruben Pfeifer; a granddaughter, Angie Sue Becker and a grandson, Tyler Lehman. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, 21 October at St. Peter Catholic Church, 202 East Washington Street, Slinger. Father Richard J. Stoffel officiated. Interment took place at the (New) St. Peter Cemetery, Highway 175, Slinger, on Saturday with military honors. Wilbur J. Steinbeck a resident of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, formerly of Campbellsport, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 78 years on Tuesday, 18 October 2005 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. Wilbur was born on 04 January 1918 in Primghar, O'Brien County, Iowa, son of John and Mary (Meyer) Steinbeck. On 16 August 1946, he married Louise E. Mohni in Everly, Iowa. Wilbur was in the United States Army during World War II, serving in France and Germany. He farmed in Iowa and Minnesota until moving to Wisconsin in 1974 where he worked at The West Bend Co. until retirement. Wilbur was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Campbellsport and the Kewaskum Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384. He was survived by his daughter, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, Louise, on 10 July 2005; his stepson, Ronald Dixon; his parents; two brothers and a sister. Funeral services were held on Thursday, 20 October at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Campbellsport. Rev. Richard Schliewe officiated. Entombment was on Friday at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Visitation was on Thursday prior to services.

Theodore H. Meyer

Funeral services were held on 22 October 2005 at the Concordia United Methodist Church in Prairie du Sac for Theodore H. Meyer, also known as Ted, of Prairie du Sac (formerly of Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA), who died at the age of 85 years on Wednesday, 19 October 2005 at Bluffview Meadows Assisted Living in North Freedom. The Reverends Carol Quinn and Regi Licht officiated the funeral service. The family received friends on 21 and 22 October at the church. Interment took place in the Sauk Prairie Cemetery in Prairie du Sac. Ted was born on 18 March 1920 in Fond du Lac, son of Walter and Hertha (Wegner) Meyer. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1937. He was also a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering. A veteran, Ted was stationed in Guam during World War II where he served with the United States Navy. On 13 April 1963, Ted married the former Mariene C. Kindschi. He enjoyed boating, motorcycles and working with wood. Ted was survived by his wife Marlene; four children, and two grandsons.

Julius J. Kuhn
M, b. 19 October 1916, d. 23 October 2005
Julius J. Kuhn of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 89 years on Sunday, 23 October 2005 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center. Julius was born on 19 October 1916 in Waukesha, Waukesha County, son of Julius and Jenny (Michel) Kuhn. He married Beatrice E. Gutjahr on 03 May 1946 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. Beatrice passed away on 03 April 2005. Julius graduated from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee and worked as a machinist at master Lock Co. and Allis Chalmers. He found time to become a Boy Scout leader and instructed swimming and life saving. In the fall of 1936, he entered the University of Wisconsin-Madison hoping to be accepted to West Point. The death of his father in March of 1937 forced Julius to stop his education and take over Kuhn’s Silver Lake Resort with his mother until he entered the United States Army in 1942. He served in the 110th Infantry, 28th Division and during the Battle of the Bulge, Julius was wounded in action and his unit captured by the German Army. Julius became a prisoner of war. He was freed by American troops in 1945 and received an honorable discharge in November of 1945. Master Sergeant Julius J. Kuhn was awarded the Purple Heart with cluster, the European Theatre Metal with four battle stars and the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground operations against the enemy during the Northern France campaign. Julius was acknowledged by the King of Denmark for his service during World War II. Following his discharge, Julius returned to West Bend and in 1949 he opened Kuhn’s Beverage Drive-In on North Main Street and in 1955 he opened Kuhn’s Decorah Liquors. He served as a director of the Wisconsin Beer and Liquor Re-tailers Association for 10 years. He enjoyed golfing and traveling to Europe with Beatrice. He joined the West Bend Rotary Club in 1955 and served as president in 1963. He was also a member of the Disabled Ameri-can Veterans, the Father Casper Rehrl Council 1964 Knights of Colum-bus and the West Bend Fred A Schaefer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1393. He was survived by four children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Vic and Roy. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, 26 October at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Reverend Gerald Brittain will be the presider, and burial will be Thursday in Holy Angels Ceme-tery.
Visitation on Wednesday at the church was prior to the service.

Howard R. Clement was born to Eternal Life at the age of 87 years on 16 April 2011 at Cedar Lake Health and Rehab Center in West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA. Howard was born c: 1924. He was the beloved husband of Betty Murawski. Howard was the father of three children, grandfather of three and great-grandfather of two. Fond half brother of Donald Clement. Howard was an Army Veteran of WW II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Howard was a graduate of Marquette University and a lifetime member of the VFW. A private Memorial Service was held at a later date.

Warren Fuhrman

Warren Fuhrman, also known as Mike, died peacefully at the age of 91 years surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, 17 April 2011. Warren was born on 01 January 1920. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia Austin. He was the father of two children, grandfather of four, and great-grandfather of five. Warren was a proud WWII Air Force veteran. He retired after 45 years with the Wisconsin Gas Company. Warren and Ginny were 40+ year members of Our Lady of Good Hope Parish. His last years were spent at Wildwood Highlands, Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County where he found many wonderful neighbors and card buddies. Words can't express the true gratitude that is felt toward the "angels on earth" at The Kathy Hospice, West Bend. Their kindness, compassion and sincere love for our dad will always be remembered. Private entombment was at Holy Cross Cemetery. His burial location is Crypy/niche 141, Tier D, Side Ls, Inside C-j. A celebration of Warren's life was held at a later date.

Fred LaLeike

Fred LaLeike passed away at the age of 78 years at Aurora Medical Center in Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA on Wednesday, 19 October 2005. He was the beloved husband of Helen LaLeike. Fred was born on 17 April 1927 in Shawano, Shawano County, son of Frederic and Louise LaLeike. He was graduated from Stoughton High School in 1944. Fred then served in the United States Army. He was stationed in Texas and the Army of Occupation in Germany, and received an honorable discharge in February 1947. Fred entered the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in September 1947 and graduated in January 1951. After graduation, he began a long, successful career as a teacher of history and Spanish in Harvard, Illinois. Before beginning to teach for the West Bend School District in 1957, Fred also taught in Lodi and Weyauwega. He pursued his post-graduate work at Ripon College, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW-Milwaukee. In August of 1965, while his family proudly looked on, he earned his master’s degree in Hispanic studies at the Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, Mexico. Fred retired from teaching in June 1989. He married Helen on 12 August 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stevens Point. During their 55 years of marriage, Fred and Helen traveled together many times to Mexico and other Central American countries. They also enjoyed traveling through South America, Spain, Portugal and most of the United States. In addition to his beloved wife, Helen, Fred is survived by two children and one granddaughter. Fred was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Lowell and Phillip. In accordance with the wishes of Fred and his family, there will be no service.

Victor A. Maeder

Victor A. Maeder, also known as Vic, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, was welcomed home by his Lord at the age of 80 years on Wednesday, 26 October 2005 at Community Memorial Hospital of Menomonee Falls surrounded by his loving family. Victor was born on 12 March 1925, son of Oswald and Dorothy (Rowe) Maeder in Sheboygan. His family later moved to West Bend, where he spent his childhood. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Victor married the love of his life and best friend, Frances M. Kearley, on 25 June 1946 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. After marriage the couple remained in the West Bend area where they raised a family of their own. He was a dedicated employee of the Gehl Co. of West Bend as a tool and die maker for 42 years, retiring in 1989. Victor was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Bend and the 25-Year Hexelbank Club. Victor was deeply missed by and reside forever in the hearts of his beloved wife and best friend of 59 years, Frances; his six children, nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald and Dorothy. Funeral services were held on Saturday, 29 October at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 West Paradise Drive, West Bend, where Reverend George Mumm officiated. Visitation with family and friends was held at the funeral home on Saturday until the time of the service.
Interment took place at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

Arthur G. Wolf

Arthur G. Wolf, also known as Art, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, was taken home by his Lord at the age of 63 years on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center. Arthur was born on 17 November 1941, son of Herbert and Luciana (Simon) Wolf in West Bend, where he was also raised. He graduated from West Bend High School, class of 1960. Arthur honorably served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He married the love of his life and his best friend, Jo Ann E. Langenecker on 22 October 1966 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. After marriage, the couple resided in West Bend, where they raised a family of their own. Arthur was a dedicated employee of the West Bend Company for over 19 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and the West Bend Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post 36. Among his favorite pastimes, Art loved to play cards, work in the yard, and he was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Far above the rest, spending quality time laughing with and enjoying his grandchildren and family was most important to him. The love and adoration of Art will forever hold strong in the hearts of his beloved wife and best friend of 39 years, Jo Ann of West Bend; his three cherished children, and four grandchildren. Art was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law, Adeline (Ken) Lemke and his parents-in-law, Norbert and Anita Langenecker. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, 31 October at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 North Eighth Avenue, West Bend, where Father Gerald Brittain officiated. Visitation with family and friends was held at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 West Paradise Drive, West Bend, on Sunday with a continued visitation on Monday at the church until the time of Mass. Interment took place at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend following the Mass.

Gordon R. Nehmer

Gordon R. Nehmer, 69, of Hartford, Wasington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed on at the age of 69 years on Saturday, 29 October 2005 at his home. Gordon married Lu Ann Becker in Beaver Dam, Dodge County on 22 June 1963. He worked at Chrysler Marine - Force Outboard for 25 years, and worked as a painter part time. He served his country in the United States Army. Gordon enjoyed hunting and being with his grandchildren in his retirement. Gordon was survuved by his wife, Lu Ann, four children and eight grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his brothers, Charles, Jerry, Donald, Herbert and Robert "Bud" and his sisters, Delores Neuman and Judy Vujnovich. Funeral services were on Friday, 04 November at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hartford. Father Mike Petrie officiated. There was a private interment. Visitation at the funeral home was on Friday.

Frank H. Frank

Frank H. Frank of Cedar Community in West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, was welcomed home by his Lord at the age of 94 years on Wednesday, 02 November 2005 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center. Frank was born on 30 August 1911, son of Maximillian and Anna (Deuster) Frank in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, where he was also raised. He then married Ethel Schroeder and the couple began raising a family of their own. Frank served his country in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Idaho. After returning home, he was a dedicated employee of Wisconsin Gas Company, retiring in 1973. Ethel passed away in 1977. On 12 June 1979, he married Evelyn Spitz (nee Tilkens). The couple moved to the Cedarburg area after marriage, and retired to Cedar Ridge in 1993. Frank was a lifetime member of the Gross-Yaksh Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6498. Frank will be missed by his loving wife, Evelyn, one daughter, one grandson, two great-grandchildren, a step-daughter, two step grandchildren, and a step great-greatgrandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, a sister and his first wife, Ethel. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, 05 November at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 1025 South Seventh Avenue, West Bend, where Father Haines officiated. Visitation with family and friends was held on Saturday, at the church prior ot the Mass. A private entombment took place at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Waukesha County.

Harry A. Kuehl

Private funeral services were held on 05 November at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, USA, for Harry A. Kuehl (formerly of Cedarburg, Ozaukee County), who died at the age of 82 years on Tuesday, 01 November 2005 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Burial took place at Calvary Cemetery in Virginia, Minnesota. Harry was born on 02 December 1922 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, son of Alvin and Adela (Luedtke) Kuehl. He grew up in Mayville, Dodge County, and Cedarburg, and was a graduate of Cedarburg High School. During World War II, Harry served with the United States Navy as an aircraft maintenance mechanic. In 1945, he married Jean Moore of Mt. Iron, Minnesota, and they settled in Cedarburg. In 1972, Harry retired from his job as an industrial electrician and the couple moved to the Minocqua-Woodruff area. Harry is survived by a daughter and a son, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean and his son David.

Kurt Stephan

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistadt, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, on 04 November 2005 for Kurt Stephan of Mequon, who, surrounded by his family, found eternal peace at the age of 80 years on Wednesday, 02 November 2005. Private interment took place on 05 November at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Waukesha County. Kurt was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison Campus with a degree in mechanical engineering. After 38 years of service, he retired from the Philips Corporation (formerly Centralab). He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistadt. Kurt was the beloved husband of 55 years to Germaine Stephan, also known as Gerry; the loving father of two, and the proud grandfather of four.

Wynard L. Paulus Jr.

Wynand L. Paulus Jr. of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 68 years on Tuesday, 08 November 2005 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center. He was born on 22 December 1936 in the town of Trenton to the late Wynand L. and Clara (Kircher) Paulus Sr. He attended St. Mary Grade School and then went to a technical trade school. Wynand served in the United States Army from 1960-1963. On 08 May 1965, he was united in marriage to Mary Bodden at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian. He worked at the former Line Material Company in Barton for many years and then at Milwaukee Seasoning in Germantown until retiring in 1992. Wynand could fix anything and everything, many times without directions. He was an active member of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Parish in West Bend and the St. Joseph Society. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, and before he was married, he enjoyed riding his Harley with friends and touring the country. He was survived by his wife, Mary, two daughters, and two grandchildren. A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Friday, 11 November at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Parish, West Bend. Reverend Michael Moran was the celebrant. Inurnment took place on Saturday in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation was on Friday at the church.

Allene (Kosanovich) Smith

Smith. Allene’s favorite pastimes were knitting, sewing, baking and reading. She served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy during World War II as a Navy meteorologist. After college, Allene worked as an administrative secretary. She is survived by her five children. Allene is further survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee A. Smith (1907-1978) and son Jeffery Smith (1950-2004).

Gordon Tyriver

Funeral services were held on Friday at the Chapel of the Chimes at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA, for Gordon Tyriver, also called Ty, of Grafton, Ozaukee County, who was taken too soon at the age of 63 years from his loving family on Sunday, 06 November 2005. Visitation was held at the chapel on Friday until the time of service. Interment followed at Wisconsin Memorial Park cemetery. Gordon served his country in the Special Services of the United States Army. He was also a Mequon police officer for over 27 years. Gordon was the loving husband of Sandy (Ulm) Tyriver; proud dad of two children and "Papa Ty" of four grandchildren.

Daniel G. Bobholz, also known as Dan, passed away tragically at the age of 58 years due to a vehicle accident on Tuesday, 19 April 2011. Daniel was born on 05 August 1952 in Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin, USA. He graduated from West Bend East High School, class of ’71. Daniel served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1978. In 1973, Dan married Kay Bandle Ohmann). Daniel worked at Cooleys in West Bend, Milwaukee Engine and Equipment, City of West Bend, West Bend Harley Davidson, and he was currently the owner and operator of Bobholz Towing and Recovery in Allenton, Washington County. Dan enjoyed riding his motorcycle and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Elise. Daniel was survived by his daughter and granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Daniel Bobholz and his mother, Eunice (Shultz) Bobholz. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, 26 April 2011at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel in West Bend where Pastor Jonathan van Sliedrecht presided. Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 26 .

Walter F. Pretsch

Walter F. Pretsch of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 84 years on Wednesday, 20 April 2011 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend. Walter was born on 03 October 1926 in Neillsville, Clark County, son of Fred and LaVeda (Selves) Pretsch. He was graduated from Granton High School and joined the United States Army. Following his discharge, he farmed in Neillsville for a short time before moving to West Bend. He there married Ethel F. Gundrum on 05 November 1949 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger, Washington County. Ethel preceded him in death on 02 August 2009. Walter worked for the West Bend Company for 41 years, retiring in 1988. He was a Cub Scout and Webelos Scout Leader and enjoyed fishing and going to the races in Slinger with his wife and children when they were younger. He loved talking to family and friends when they came over to visit. Walter was an avid follower of the Packers, Brewers and Bucks – both on radio and TV – and he never missed a game. Walter was a member of the Lt. A.W. Frankow Chapter 58 Disabled American Veterans and was honored on 13 November 2010, for his many years of service. He was survived by his five children, 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and LaVeda Pretsch; his wife, Ethel; his step-mother, Wanda (nee Short); his brother, Richard "Bub" (Irma) Pretsch; and his beloved dog, Buttons. A memorial service to honor Walter was held on Wednesday, 27 April at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend where the Reverend Jeffrey Haines officiated. Inurnment with military honors took place at the old St. Peter Cemetery in Slinger. Visitation was on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Walter Cornelius Schneider

Walter Cornelius Schneider, also known as Wally, of Slinger, Washington Country, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 73 years on Sunday, 24 April 2011 of cardiac arrest. He served two years in the United States Army. He was retired from the Silgan Container Corporation in 2000, after 33 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting miniature cars and socializing with neighbors, friends and family. Wally was survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane Pasket, three sons, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Peter, Thomas and James. A funeral service was held on Thursday, 28 April 2011 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 West Paradise Drive, West Bend. Visitation was at the funeral home on Thursday, 28 April.

David L. Steltz

David L. Steltz of Slinger, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 61 years on Monday, 25 April 2011, after a battle with ALS. David was born on 24 August 1949 in Ashland, Ashland County, son of Lawrence and Irene (Locks) Steltz. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. On 24 April 1976, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Gundrum at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nenno, Washington County. David worked as a prepress coordinator for Glenroy Inc. in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County. He was a member of the Lomira, Dodge County Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347. David enjoyed his flower gardens, traveling, playing cards and slot machines at the casinos. He was survived by his loving wife, Kathleen of Slinger; four children, and two grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Phyllis Steltz; brother-in-law, Bruce McCrae; godson, Ronald Koppen; nephew, Richard Koppen; and parents-in-law, Edmund and Delores Gundrum. Funeral services was held on Friday, at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 West Washington Street, West Bend, where the Reverend William Dushek officiated. Visitation was on Friday at the funeral home.
