Charles W. Arand

M, b. 03 June 1934, d. 16 July 2011
      Charles W. Arand, also known as Chuck, passed away at the age of 77 years on Saturday, 16 July 2011. Charles was born on 02 June 1934 in Galena, Jo Daviess County, Illinois, USA, son of John and Eleanore (Wilson) Arand. He graduated from Rockford West High School in 1953 and attended Rockford College. On 23 June 1956, he married Lorna Schoenfeld. They moved to Texas, where he served in the Air Force. When they moved to Wisconsin, he attended mortuary school in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. He was a devoted Christian and was actively involved in church and Bible studies. Charles was a past president and longtime member of the West Bend Lions Club. He loved painting, traveling, fishing, hunting, camping with his sisters, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Charles truly enjoyed spending time with his family and was incredibly proud of all of them. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was survived by his wife Lorna and by his children Chuck and Betty Arand with their children Ben and Becky; Steve and Jeannie Arand with their children Brett and Carley, Julie; and Mike Chirchirillo with their children Paul and Lauren; and Shari and Mark Goeden with their son Andrew and his wife Amanda. He was further survived by his sisters Joyce and Harold Munson and Jan and Jim Quinn, and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

A memorial service for Chuck was held on Thursday, 21 July, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church-Main Street location, 820 S. Main Street in West Bend where the Reverend Jeff Dorth presided. Visitation took place on Wednesday, 20 July at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 West Paradise Drive in West Bend and additional visitation was on Thursday, 21 July at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church-Main Street location. Inurment of cremains took place following the service at Washington County Memorial Park.

Matthias J. Metz

M, b. 26 February 1934, d. 12 July 2011
      Matthias J. Metz Jr., also known as Matt, of Fairfield Street in Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 72 years on Tuesday, 12 July 2011 at Horizon Hospice in Mequon. Matt was born in the town of Mequon on 26 February 1939, son of Matthias W. Metz and Hildegarde (Weiss) Metz. After his schooling, he served his country in the United States Army. On 27 August 1960, he was united in marriage with Karen Kritz in West Bend. Matt drove a truck, most recently for Crouse Cartage. He retired in 2004. Matt was an avid hunter and a passionate angler. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Matt was survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Karen; their five children, Matt (Denise) Metz of Port Washington, Crescent (David) Kaemmer of Germantown, DeeAnne (Todd) Henning of Minneapolis, Amy Lowe of West Bend and Nicole Metz, also of Minneapolis. He was further survived by his mother, Hildegarde Metz of West Bend; six grandchildren, Melynda, Joshua, Jeremy, Noah, Danielle and Jared; two sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and his beloved brother-in-law. Private family services were held.

Lawrence Stecker

      Lawrence Stecker, also known as Larry, of St. Germain, Vilas County, Wisconsin, USA, died unexpectedly at the age of 63 years on Sunday, 10 July 2011 by accidental drowning. A memorial Mass was held Friday, 15 July 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sayner. Lawrence was born on 19 February 1948 in Cedarburg, son of Gerritt and Gladys (B...) Stecker. Hey was raised and attended schools in Cedarburg, where he graduated high school in 1966. He entered the United States Marine Corps and served for three years during the Vietnam War. In June of 1974, Larry married Karen Weber in Woodruff, Oneida County. They resided in Cedarburg, where he served his apprenticeship and became a journeyman carpenter. In 1977, they moved to St. Germain, where Larry has been self-employed as a carpenter creating beautiful homes and other structures. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both duck and deer hunting. He also enjoyed playing softball and trapshooting. Larry particularly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member and usher at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sayner. Larry was survived by his wife, Karen of St. Germain; son, Ben, of St. Germain; daughter, Abbey (Luke) M., of Eagle River; mother, Gladys B..; brothers, David Stecker and Jim (Teri) Stecker; sisters, Ellyn (Peter) Stecker-Smith, Elaine (Joe) Stecker-Kochanski, Mary Williams, Kathy Stecker and Carole (Mike Pfotenauer) Stecker; grandchildren, Autumn Stecker and Taylor and Lexi Maillette; and many other relatives and friends.

Darrell John Naumann

      Darrell John Naumann, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 74 years on Sunday, 17 July 2011 at The Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk. Darrell was born on 15 May 1937 in West Bend, son of Sylvester "Fat" and Alvinia "Tootie" (Fischer) Naumann. Darrell attended Barton and McLane elementary schools and graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1955. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Darrell spent most of his career as a station agent for the former REA Express of West Bend. He also worked for a short time at the former Brittingham and Hixon Lumber Company and the West Bend Malt House. He retired in 1998 from Serigraph where he had worked the last 16 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend, West Bend Masonic Lodge No. 138 F &AM, West Bend Moose Lodge No. 1398 and the Unity Club. He was survived by three brothers, Adrian "Ace" Naumann, Bruce (Phyllis) Namann and Glenn (Joann) Naumann, all of West Bend; sister-in-law, Carol; nieces and nephews, Matthew (Debi), Garrett, Karla (Shawn) Guerndt, Dawn (Guy) Schumacher, Andrew, Doug (Darlene), Gail (Joel) Freeborn, Steve (Nikky), Kristine (Chuck) Dreher, and Brenda; many great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and friends. A Masonic service was held on Saturday, 23 July with funeral services in remembrance of Darrell held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 North 7th Avenue, West Bend. The Reverends. David and Cristy Schoob officiated. Visitation was at the church on Saturday. Burial was on Monday in Union Cemetery, West Bend.

Eugene D. LaMarche

      Eugene D. LaMarche, also known as Gene, of Kewaskum, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 86 years on Friday, 22 July 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in the town of Polk. Eugene was born on 23 June 1925, in Stevens Point, Portage County, son of Wilfrid and Lillian (Stuske) LaMarche. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. On 27 March 1948, Gene was united in marriage to Mary Callsen in Maquoketa, Iowa. Gene earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and his master’s degree from St. Mary College in Winona, Minnesota. He taught at Kewaskum High School, primarily biology, for 33 years, retiring in 1987. Gene was a member of the Kewaskup Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Gene and Mary volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Society and were instrumental in establishing a chapter in Kewaskum. Those Gene lleft behind to cherish his memory included his wife of 63 years, Mary; five children, John (Maggie) LaMarche of Des Moines, Iowa, Connie (Cliff) M... of Racine, James (Toni) LaMarche of Santa Cruz, Calif., Jeanne LaMarche (Chris Hanson) of Milwaukee and Jeffrey (Maud) LaMarche of Stevens Point; a brother, Jerry (Mary) LaMarche of Sacramento, Calif; a sister, Lin Korzilius of Modesto, Calif., 14 grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren. A memorial Mass for Gene was celebrated on Wednesday, 27 July at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum where Father Edwin Kornath officiated. Gene’s family received family and friends at the church on Wednesday prior to the service.

Dr. Richard E. Peterson

M, b. 21 April 1925, d. 22 July 2011
      Dr. Richard E. Peterson, also known as Dick, peacefully passed away at the age of 86 years in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin on the 22nd of July, 2011. He was survived by Betty, his wonderful wife of 61 years. Richard, known to family and friends as Dick, was born in Hermansville, Menominee County, Michigan, USA, son of Imogene Newell and Elmer Thor Peterson on 21 April 1925. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1943, where he led the Bulldogs to a conference basketball championship. After Dick graduated from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and became a member of the 5th Army basketball team. In 1947, Dick walked onto the Marquette University basketball team, and in 2009 ,Marquette ranked Dick 143rd out of the 667 best players in the history of the MU basketball program. In February of 2011, Dick was inducted into the Cedarburg High School hall of fame in honor of his basketball career and his service to the Cedarburg community. On the advice of his Marquette basketball coach, Dick went on to graduate from Marquette's school of dentistry. The new Dr. Peterson established a successful dental practice in Cedarburg. In addition to serving the community through dentistry, Dick served nine years on the Cedarburg School Board. He was a charter member, president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary Club. An active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg and Faith Lutheran in Three Lakes, he served others in many ways, including a mission trip to Tanzania, Africa. He opened his home to several foreign exchange students and served on the Cedarburg Police Commission and Savings and Loan Board of Directors. After 32 years of dentistry in Cedarburg, Dick and Betty retired in the north woods of Eagle River. There he served on the Vilas County Board of Adjustment and was President of the Bass Lake Association. Dick will be forever remembered for his sense of humor and as "the life of the party." He loved people, and most enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting, horseshoe leagues, bowling and of course, basketball.

Dick was also survived by his children, Nial and Kris, and their spouses, Karen and Dave. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Bree, Baily, Bryka, Erik and Ian, and was also survived by his brother, Ken, and wife, Nancy. Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Bob, and wife, Mary. We will all miss him, knowing that he is now "the life of the party" in Heaven. Praise God who is always faithful to the very end. Just weeks before Dick passed, he stated, "I've had a great life; I'm ready!"

A service officiated by Pastor John Norquist was be held on 27 July at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Visitation preceded the service. A memorial service will held later.

Melvin A. Henke

      Melvin A. Henke, also known as Mel, of Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 73 years on Wednesday, 27 July 2011, at his residence in the comfort of his loving wife of 50 years. He was born on 22 March 1938 in the town of Richfield, son of Emil and Margaret (Linden) Henke. Mel was united in marriage to Carole Christman on 19 August 1961 at the First Congregational Church in Hartford. He was survived by his wife Carole, his sons Scott (Laura) Henke of Hartford and Brian (Janet) Henke of Hartford, four grandchildren; Nolan, Grant, twins Seth and Haley, his siblings Robert Henke of Florida, Evarist "Slim" (Nancy) Henke of Hartford, Shirley Enders of Hartford, Pat (Vic) Rens of Waupun, Fred (Kathi) Bonde of Elkhart Lake and Jim (Mary) Bonde of Newton, his sister-in-law Doris Henke of Germany, his brothers-in-law Carmen (Maureen) Christman of Slinger and Kevin (Mary) Christman of Slinger. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Margaret, foster parents Kenneth and Sadie Galer who raised him, sisters Maple Henke and Betty (Henke) Keyes, his brothers Merlin (twin to Melvin), Roy and Ronald, and his mother and father-in-law Marvin and Loiree (nee Mathwig) Christman. Mel enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Many hours were spent at the cabin in Portage. He enjoyed building anything with wood – carpenter work, chainsaw carving, finishing work. He liked gardening and putting puzzles together. He had been a journeyman carpenter and drove semi for Jones Transfer Line and West Bend Transit service; he was a member of Teamsters Local 200. He served active duty with the 32nd Diision. at Fort Lewis, Washington. He was a member of the Hartford Courtney-Carr-Milner American Legion Post 19 and served as officer, color guard, and as a volunteer for brat frys.

Memorial funeral service for Mel was held on Tuesday, 02 August at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street (Highway 83 N), Hartford were the Reverend Jeffrey Schimp officiated. Family greeted relatives and friends on Tuesday peior to the service. Military honors preceded the memorial service.

      Lloyd Joseph Stoklasa passed from this life at the age of 83 years on 29 July 2011 in Florida, USA. Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, he moved from Germantown, Washington County, Wisconsin to Florida in 2005. Beloved husband of 56 years to Joyce (Schlei). Loving father of Debra (Kelly) S... and Cheryl (Jim) N.... Proud grandfather of 6, great-grandfather of 3 and 1 great - great - grandchild. Dear brother of Dolores Beck and Joseph Stoklasa. Lloyd proudly served in the United States Army. His pleasures were deer hunting, the Packers and talking to his grandchildren. Lloyd will be remembered for his great sense of humor. Dale Arnold Hafeman

      Dale Arnold Hafeman a lifelong resident of West Bend, passed away at the age of 81 years early on Saturday, 30 July 2011 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee Country, Wisconsin, USA. He was the only son of Arthur and Frances (Kowski) Hafeman. Born on -2 August 1929, Dale attended West Bend High School, but at the end of his junior year, his education was interrupted when he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. For his service during World War II, he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. After fulfilling his three year tour of duty, he earned his delayed high school diploma. Dale went on to attend Marquette University, graduating in 1954 from the school of business.

Dale met his wife Barbara Warhanek on Silver Lake, where they would eventually reside for many years, marrying on 28 January 1956. They have seven children: Mary Hafeman, Michael (Kim) Hafeman, Jayne (Robert) Peplinski, Thomas (Katrina) Hafeman, Sara Struebing-Hafeman, Jennifer Hafeman and John (Stacy) Hafeman. During his early years, Dale worked at various jobs, including caddy at the West Bend Country Club and general errand boy for the West Bend News. He worked part-time at the West Bend Company, moving into full time employment as a salesman in the spring of 1950. He later transferred to the finance department, becoming manager of the Installment Finance Division. In 1972, he was promoted to the International Sales Manager for Lifetime and Private Label Accounts and Director of Governmental Affairs. In 1977, he took over the position of General Sales Manager of Specialty Steel. After 38 years of loyal service, Dale retired in 1992. Inspired by a need in the field of direct sales and because of his experience with installment financing, Dale, upon the urging is his son, Michael, agreed to embark on the establishment of a new finance company. As a result, in 1982 the Time Investment Company was born in the basement of the family homestead and continues to thrive and grow. Today, TIC has 35 employees and is located in the historic West Bend City Hall. Dale was involved in community activities/organizations, such as the United Fund, serving as chairman in 1967; Junior Achievement; the Kettle Moraine YMCA, where he participated in the original fundraising efforts and formation of the Indian Guides Program; a founder and long term board member of the Silver Lake Yacht Club; a 40-year member of the West Bend Country Club; a charter and active member of St. Frances Cabrini Church and School.
Dale was an avid golfer, hiker-walker, world traveler visiting all seven continents, a country western music lover and an avid Green Bay Packer fan. First and foremost, he was a man who loved his family deeply. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and doting grandfather/great-grandfather.

He wass survived by his wife Barbara along with their seven children; 15 grandchildren: Lindsay, Amanda and Zachary Hafeman; Robert (Kimberly), Clair, Lauren, Joseph and Jacob Peplinski; Tony Lutz, Tessa and Bethany Hafeman; Jack and Samuel Struebing; and Benjamin and Sara Hafeman as well as four great-grandchildren: Grace, Caroline, Henry and Audrey Peplinski. Dale is also survived by a sister-in-law Ginny Warhanek; a brother-in-law David Weiss; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marlene Weiss, a brother-in-law Howard Warhanek and a sister-in-law Marie Warhanek. A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, 03 August at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church where the Reverend Nathan Reeseman presided. The family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday.

Oscar W. Behrend

      Oscar W. Behrend of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 85 years on Monday, 01 August 2011 at Vitas Hospice in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. Oscar was born on 21 October 1925 in Milwaukee, son of Oscar and Erma (Pape) Behrend. During World War II, he served with the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he returned to the Milwaukee area. On 30 April 1949, he was united in marriage to LaVerne Zsido. The couple lived in Milwaukee, Jackson, Washington County and the state of Arkansas prior to settling in West Bend 13 years ago.

Survivors include his wife LaVerne; one son Jeff (Diana); one grandson Jared; one sister-in-law Dolores Marschke; a niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters. Private family services was held at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

      Robert O. Kumrow, also known as Bob, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 87 years on Friday, 12 August 2011 at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend. Robert was born on 21 July 1924 in West Bend, son of Arnold and Ella (Gerhardt) Kumrow. He graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1942. Bob served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. On 29 May 1948, he was united in marriage to Bernice Feiten at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Bernice preceded him in death on 15 April 2008. Bob worked as an adjustment manager for the West Bend Company and was a member of their 25-year club, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and West Bend Moose Lodge 1398. He is survived by his two children, Ken (Beth) Kumrow of Menomonee Falls and Steve (Penny) Kumrow of Wagoner, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Scott Kumrow, Tammy Kumrow, Stephanie (Mark) Milosevich, Craig Kumrow, Darrick Hyland and Jared Hyland; sister, Doris Fisher of West Bend; other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice; brother, Arnold Kumrow and brother-in-law, Bernard Fisher. A memorial service in remembrance of Bob was held on Wednesday, 17 August at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 West Washington Street, West Bend. Visitation was on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Inurnment took place on Thursday in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Edward Arthur Carlson

      Edward Arthur Carlson, also known as Ed, God called Edward home to Heaven at the age of 86 years early Saturday morning, 13 August 2011 at Horizon Hospice Center/Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee in Mequon, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA. Ed was born in Daggett, Menominee County, Michigan, on 21 September 1924, son of Ida Carlson. He grew up in the upper peninsula of Michigan and moved to Wisconsin in 1965. With honor and pride, he served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Force. He was united in marriage with Nancy Legvold on 30 July 1966 at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, Ozaukee County. The couple settled in town and raised their son, Todd. Ed worked as a machine operator for Pioneer Container, retiring in 1991 after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of the VFW in Daggett, and Cedarburg Peter Wollner American Legion Post 288. Ed loved fishing with his buddy, Jack, especially for brookies in the spring. He enjoyed bowling and spending time up north at the family home in Crivitz. He was an amazing fixer of broken things, and recently had taken up birdhouse-making. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy, and their son, Todd, both of Cedarburg. He is further survived by his brother-in- law, Jon (Linda) Legvold of Jonesboro, Arkansas, nieces, nephews and an extended family of friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Funeral services was held on Saturday, 20 August at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Avenue, Cedarburg. Military Honors followed. The family received visitors at the funeral home on Saturday.

Allen H. Andree

      Allen H. Andree, formerly of Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 67 years on 23 July 2011. Allen was born on 12 September 1943, son of Marion and Russell Andree. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1961 and later enlisted in the United States Army, where he worked in aircraft maintenance. In 1969, Allen received a degree in mechanical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Family and friends remember Allen for his dry sense of humor and his love of working on his sports cars. Allen was survived by his wife, Jayne (Zimdars), daughter Kristine (Paul) King of Luck and son Brandon of Cushing, grandchildren Elise and Gavin King, and his mother, Marion. Allen was also survived by a brother, Bruce (Sandy), a sister, Eileen (Paul) Zwettler, nephews C.J. and Chad Andree and their families. Funeral services were held on 26 July at Church & Chapel Funeral Home in Waukesha, Waukesha County.

Robert A. Klug

      Robert A. Klug, also known as Bob: A memorial service was held on Friday, 19 August 2011 at Community United Methodist Church, Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, for Robert A. Klug, of Cedarburg, who died at the age of 97 years on 16 August 2011. A gathering was held at the church immediately following the service. The Reverend David Blackmer officiated. Bob was born in Milwaukee on 19 April 1914, son of Richard H. and
Magdalena (Hermann) Klug. He graduated from Milwaukee North High School in 1931. As a staff sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps, Bob served his country during World War II from 1941 through 1945. He was stationed in England, North Africa and Italy. Bob was employed in 1931 by the Milwaukee Gas Light Co., which later became Wisconsin Gas and is now We Energies. He started as a messenger boy and rose to several positions in sales and management, retiring in 1976.

A Cedarburg resident since 1954, Bob was an active volunteer and lay minister at Community United Methodist Church. Bob served as the city of Cedarburg director of emergency services and held positions on the Cedarburg Park Board. An Eagle Scout, Bob volunteered for Troop 3 Cedarburg Boy Scouts. Along with his wife, Evelyn, he was a founding member of the Cedarburg Cultural Center. He was a guide at the Cedarburg Visitors Center and a member of the League of Women Voters. Bob was a volunteer with Ozaukee COPE well into his 90s and served as
a volunteer driver for the Red Cross. For their service, Bob and Ev were named the Ozaukee County Volunteers of the Year for 2003. Bob actively participated in the Friday Morning Breakfast Club for many years. An avid walker, he also enjoyed aviation, sheepshead and pistol shooting. Bob and Ev took part in over 40 Elderhostels after they retired. Adventurous travelers, their destinations included East Africa, Europe, New Zealand, Fiji and all 50 states.

Bob was survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Evelyn (Berg) Klug, a resident of Lasata Care Center; sons, William (Meredith) Klug of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Richard (Kate Stearns) Klug of Wellesley, Massachusetts; grandsons, Nate Klug of New Haven, Connecticut, and Sam Klug of New York; other relatives and many friends.

Richard H. May

      Richard H. May, also known as Dick, closed his eyes and took his last breath at the age of 81 years on 29 June 2011. He was surrounded by the people he loved and the people who loved him. Devoted husband of 58 years to his high school sweetheart Delores A. (Pleier) May. Loving father of Richard (Jane) May, Robert (Debra) May, Mary (Detlef) Dreja and Michael (Jean) May. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, other relatives and friends. Dick graduated from Washington High School and The University of Minnesota where he excelled in Football. He also served his Country in the United States Army. In life as in death his passion was teaching, retiring after 32 years from Riverside High School where he taught US History along with coaching Football, Track and serving as Athletic Director. Visitation was on Friday, 08 July 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, N74 W13604 Appleton Avenue, Menomonee Falls, with a the Celebration of Catholic Mass which followed.

      Dennis W. Radtke, born on 10 August 1932, was called Home to the Lord and reunited with his loving wife, Patricia, on Saturday, 09 July 2011. He was the loving father to Michael (Bonnie), Merry (Thomas) Rottmann, and Jill (fiancé Tony Tlachac). Proud grandfather of Paul (Jessica) Rottmann, Gary (Karissa) Rottmann, and Haylee Campbell. Step-grandfather of Jessica McConville and Stephanie De Vito. Dear brother of Arlene Helm, Helen (Greg) Cherney, and Nadine (Frank) Monroe, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Radtke and Lucille Carter and brother, Kenneth. Dad served in the United States Navy from 1952-1956 and retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a loving father and grandfather. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Visitation for Dennis was held on Wednesday, 13 July at Schmitt & Bartlet Funeral Home, Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA. Interment took place on Thursday, 14 July 2011 at Wisconsin Memorial Park (13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield).

Erick K. Rehm

      Erich K. Rehm, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA passed away at the age of 94 years on Thursday, 18 August 2011 at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend. Erich was born on 27 September 1916 in Pforzheim, Germany, son of Ernst and Anna (Doll) Rehm. He served in the German Army during WWII on the Russian front. On 30 May 1942, Erich was united in marriage to Gretel Bauer in Esslingen, Germany. In 1951, they came to the United States, settling in the Milwaukee area. Erich owned and operated Rehm Electric Service in Wauwatosa, retiring in 1981. From 1982 to 1996 he and Gretel lived in Mercer, and in 1996, they moved to Hartford. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cedar Lake. Erich enjoyed fishing, playing sheepshead and pinochle.

Erich was survived by his wife, Gretel of West Bend; two children, Bernd "Erich" (Diane) Rehm of West Bend, and Ursula (Jon) Lanam of Spokane, Wash; three grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Lanam, Stephanie Lanam and Matthew (Amy) Rehm; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Callie, Jack and Katie Lanam and Cadie and Sean Rehm; three sisters, Gretel Maissenbacher of Pforzheim, Germany, Geisela Feierbacher of Pforzheim, Germany and Theresa (Henry) Long of Anchor-age, Alaska; brother, Albert Rehm of Pforzheim Germany; brother-in-law, Herbert (Lore) Bauer of Esslingen, Germany; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph and sister, Erna. A private family memorial service in remembrance of Erich was held where Reverend Paul Reede officiated. Inurnment took place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

Clarence E. Dietrich

      Clarence E. Dietrich: Funeral services were held on Tuesday, 23 August 2011 at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, W63 N527 Hanover Avenue, Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, for Clarence E. Dietrich, who died at the age of 82 years on Saturday, 20 August 2011 at his residence. Visitation was at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service. Interment followed.

Clarence was born in St. Thomas, Pembina County, North Dakota, on 28 July 1929, son of Henry and Ella (Steinke) Dietrich. He was the youngest of 17 children. Clarence was united in marriage to Lillian Cook 59 years ago and they were blessed with three children. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Clarence was a carpenter by trade and loved to make all kinds of wood products. He also loved the outdoors and used to do all kinds of gardening, from flowers to vegetables. Clarence and Lillian were longtime members of First Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Clarence in survived by his wife, Lillian; children, Debbie (Jim) Hinkley, Daryl Dietrich and Diane (Michael) Czisny; grandchildren, Jeremy (Carrie) Rosenau, Joshua (Carol) Rosenau, Adam Rosenau, and Megan, Justin and Kristin Czisny; four great-grandchildren, Kalab, Conner, Emily and Gavin Rosenau; sister, Ella Ganssle; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Terry Rosenau.

Nancy Shaw

F, b. 26 May 1923, d. 26 August 2011
      Nancy Shaw (nee Piscitello), of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 88 years in her home on 26 August 2011. Nancy was born 26 May 1923, in Easton, Pennsylvania, daughter of Gaetano and Rosalie Piscitello. She wed Harold W. Shaw Sr. on 10 February 1945. The couple was married for almost 57 years. Nancy was predeceased by Harold (2001); son Terrance (1990); and her parents, brothers Sal, Anthony, Gene, and sisters Mary and Sarah. She is survived by sons Harold W. Shaw, Jr. of West Bend and Keith B. Shaw of Chandler, Arizona. Other surviving relatives include her four grandchildren: Michelle Shaw of Devon, Pennsylvania; Jill Shaw of Asheville, North Carolina; Christen Morris of Seattle, Washington; and Christopher Shaw of Queen Creek, Arizona; and sister Anna Testa and brothers Joseph and Carl Piscitello, all of Easton. Nancy joined the United States Navy in 1943. Because she was under age at the time, she enlisted using the birth certificate of a cousin with the same name. As a Wave, she served proudly as a pharmacist’s mate at the Brooklyn Naval Yard from 1943-1945. It was there that she met her husband. Nancy was most grateful to be part of a WWII veterans Honor Flight to Washington D.C., which was the highlight of her last year. There was a private graveside service for family members at Saint Killian’s cemetery in Hartford. A memorial Mass was held at Saint Philip and James Church in Phillipsburg, New Jersery on Friday, 09 September.

      William F. Strei, also known as Bill, died on 01 April 2011 at the age of 87 years. He was the beloved husband of Gloria LaPorte, the brother of Helen Brandemuhl-Petraska, and the late Bertha Asmus, uncle of JoAnn (Fred) Werner, Gary (Judy) Brandemuhl, and Dennis (Carol) Brandemuhl. He was also survived by other relatives, neighbors and friends. Visitation was on Tuesday, 05 April at the Harder Funeral Home, Milwaukee prior to the memorial service. Entombment was at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Bill was an Oldsmobile (Automobile) Salesman extraordinaire.

      Martin Christon, also known as Marty, went peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 83 years on 10 June 2011. Beloved husband of Christina. Loving father of Chris (Sara) and Georgia (Kevin) McCoy. Proud Papou of Peter and Nicholas Christon; Aaron, Taylor and Jacob McCoy. Dear brother-in-law of Emily Caras. He was missed by many family and friends. Marty retired after 36 years of service from the George J. Meyer Company. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was past Post Commander of the Germantown American Legion Post 1. Visitation was at the funeral home Tuesday, 14 June. There was a Trisagion service and the visitation was at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 9400 West Congress Street on Wednesday. Funeral services was in the morning. Reverend Father James Dokos officiated. Internment was at Pine Lawn Cemetery.

Ralph Thomas Martin

      Ralph Thomas Martin passed away at the age of 80 years on 01 September 2011 in Scottsdale, Maricope County, Arizoina, USA. He was a long term resident of Whitefish Bay, Milaukee County, Wisconsin. Ralph was born on 08 October 1930 in Ripon, Fond du Lac County. A graduate of the class of 1952 of Ripon College, where he majored in Economics and played on the football and track teams. At Ripon, he was also a member of Alpha Phi Omega and the ROTC. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He later went on to co-found Great Lakes Packaging Corporation in Germantown, Washington County. Throughout his life Ralph loved sports, and in his later years, Ralph was an avid golfer and proud friend to his dogs Mack and Zack. Ralph was survived by his wife Joanne Daley, his 3 sons Michael, Dan and Chris, 2 daughters-in-law Jane and Marcy, and 5 grandchildren Kaitlyn, Lauren, Tyler, Avery and Claire. Memorials to Ripon College.

Harry Michael Sciezor

      Harry Michael Sciezor of Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, found peace at the age of 84 years while surrounded by his loving family on 03 September 2011. He was born on 30 September 1926, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, to Michael Sciezor and Mary Kielbasa. Harry married the love of his life, Jean Hackett, on 24 August 1957. He was the loving father of Jeanne (the late Wayne) Heidel, Patricia (Ted) Haischer, and Mary (Fred) Goetz. "Gramps" was the much adored grandfather of Renee (Wally) Miller, Ted (Lori) Haischer, Michael (Peggy) Haischer, Jeff (Wendy) Goetz, Jacquie (Glenn) Weihert, Tricia (Jeff) Harte, and Katie (Craig) Kennison. He was the dear brother of Florence Berseth, Eleanor Kucera and Alice Maul and is further survived by 17 great-grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Semmann.

As a young man Harry had the opportunity to play ball with the New York Giants. He was so fast at running the bases he earned the nickname "Slippery Sciezor." That career ended when he was called into service at the age of 18. Harry proudly served in the US Army for two years during World War II as a prison guard in the Philippine Islands. He was a member of the Grafton Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355. Harry was a carpenter by trade. After his retirement, he worked in maintenance in the Grafton school system. His master carpentry skills, craftsmanship and work ethic were well-known and admired by friends and co-workers alike. Harry was a kind and gentle man who touched so many lives. All who knew Harry loved and respected him. Our dear Harry will be forever missed.

Visitation was on Thursday, 08 September at St. Paul Lutheran Church (701 Washington Street), Grafton. A funeral service to honor Harry followed the visitation. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Robert G. Lauson

      Robert G. Lauson, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died peacefully of cancer at the age of 74 years on Tuesday, 06 September 2011 at The Kathy Hospice with his wife by his side. He was born on 05 December 1936 in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, to the late Robert and Verena (Sell) Lauson. At the age of 2, the family moved to West Bend. Robert attended Holy Angels School and graduated from West Bend High School with the Class of 1954. He then went on to Marquette University School of Business and enrolled in ROTC. While serving with the United States Navy, he lived in Little Creek, Virginia. Following his discharge, he returned to West Bend. On 12 September 1959, Robert was united in marriage to Jeanne L. Collien at St. Frances Cabrini Church in West Bend. Bob was employed at B.C. Ziegler Company where he worked as a loan officer. In 1992, he retired after 31 years of service. Throughout the years, he enjoyed traveling to many different places. He also spent time at their park home in Jellystone and spending time over the winter months in Mexico.

Robert was survived by his wife Jeanne; eight children Julie (John) Ringo, Robert (Judy), William (Stefphanie), Jane (Scott) Seeley, Peter (Gretchen), Joseph (Lisa), Michael (Erika) and James (Heather); 13 grandchildren Noelle (Nathan), John, Matthew, Thomas, Robby (Erika), Kara, David, Amanda, Shannon, Derek, Rachel, Carissa and Charlee and a new grandson due in December; 1 sister Mary Stelle of Mexico; 2 sisters in-law Arleen Schmidt of West Bend and Eileen Duenkel of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Ann and Lou Sander.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, 09 September at Holy Angels Catholic Church where the Reverend Gerald Brittain presided. Burial followed at Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend. The family greeted relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church prior to the service. Masses of memorials to Holy Angels Church are appreciated. The family extended a special thank you to Dr. James Thomas and his staff at Froedtert Hospital for their efforts and care and the staff at The Kathy Hospice for their compassionate care. The family thanked their neighbors for the friendship, concern and caring attitude. With gratitude and thanks, Bob’s family also acknowledged friends past and present, near and far, for their calls, prayers, Novenas and prayer lists, which have helped guide them through the difficult months.

Ralph Fisher

      Ralph Fisher of Hubertus, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 77 years on Wednesday, 07 September 2011 at his residence, surrounded by his daughters. Ralph was born 23 February 1934 in Milwaukee, son of Ralph and Dorothy (Carmody) Fisher. He was united in marriage to Doris "Sue" Buth on 12 December 1953 in Milwaukee. Ralph was a lifelong sheet metal worker with Local 18 Union. He served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. Ralph was a past lieutenant of the Richfield Fire Department and a member of the Richfield Lions club.

Ralph was survived by his children Laura (Michael) Steger of Hartford, Linda (Gary) Wenzel of Hartford and Lisa Fisher of Illinois and his grandchildren Chad (Sarah) and Melissa Steger, Kyle, Kale, Korey, and Keaton Wenzel. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris in 1995, and by his parents. Funeral Services were held on Friday, 09 September 2011 at the Shimon Funeral Home where Pastor Doug Stowe officiated. Family greeted relatives and friends prior to the service at the funeral home.
