Leo M. Guttmann passed away at the age of 91 years on 20 October 2011 after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Caroline C. (Feiner); his brothers, Andy, John and Robert; and a sister, Martha Chmielewski. Leo was the dear dad of Michael (Elizabeth), Gloria, Terese (Phil) Bailey and Dennis; and the loving grandpa of Margaret and Catherine Guttmann. He was further survived by his brother, Frank, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Leo was born and raised in Mequon, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA. He was a World War II United States Army veteran and a retiree of Mercury Marine after 39 years of employment. His hobbies included bowling, fishing and gardening.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday at Lumen Christi-Thiensville, 138 West Buntrock Avenue. Visitation was at the church until the time of the Mass. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon. Leo's burial location is Section 12, Row 45, Grave 110.

Richard J. Rose passed away peacefully at Kathy Hospice on Sunday, 20 November 2011 at the age of 85 years. Richard was born in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, on 31 March 1926, son of Erwin and Marie (Neuy) Rose. He served as a dedicated member of the United States Army. Richard then went on to marry Bernice Schemenauer on 27 August 1949 in the town of Nabob. He retired from Wisconsin Electric as a troubleshooter after 39 years of dedicated service. Richard was a member of the West Bend Fred A. Schaefer VFW Post 1393 for 54 years and the Allennton Fohl-Martin American Legion Post 483. He was also a lifetime member of the West Bend Moose Lodge 1398 where he received the Pilgrim Degree, the highest honor in the Moose organization. Richard also served two terms as governor of the Moose Lodge 1398 where he actively served up until a few years ago. He enjoyed playing horseshoes which he played up until last year along with darts, bowling, softball, hardball, hunting, fishing and a good game of bingo. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and he will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

He is further survived by his great-grandchildren Brianna, Toni, Alexandria, Jacob, Devon, Caleb, Hailey, Dalton, Taylor, Dylan, Logan, Jordan, Emma, and Mason; siblings Jack (Mary Ann), Arthur (Jane), Pat Jossart, Kenneth, and Roger; brother-in-law Donald Biertzer; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Marie Rose; Gary and Alice’s son, Dean Rose; sisters Virginia Biertzer and Shirley Biertzer, and brothers Robert and Donald Rose.
A funeral service for Richard was held on Wednesday, 23 November at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 West Paradise Drive, West Bend, where Deacon Ron Schneider presided. Visitation was at the funeral home on Wednesday, 23 November. Private interment took place at Washington County Memorial Park.

John C. Lyons

John C. Lyons of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died peacefully at the age of 85 years surrounded by his loving family on Friday, 18 November 2011 Froedtert Health St. Joseph Hospital. He was born on 04 Jananuary 1926 in New York, New York, son of Edward and Margaret (Jackson) Lyons. During World War II, John served with the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he attended the University of Notre Dame graduating in 1950. John was a member of the Notre Dame Monogram Club. On 30 August 1952, he was united in marriage to Joanne R. Clair at Christ the King Church in Chicago, Illinois. He was a long-time executive of the West Bend Company, retiring after more than 35 years of service.
Survivors included his beloved wife of 59 years, Joanne, his loving children John C. (Mary Pat), Joseph E. (Karen), David G. (Jackie), Maggie (Mark) K..., Michael E., Kevin T. (Linda) and Robert C. (Peggy); 20 treasured grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a sister Mary M..., brother-in-law J. Edward Clair, sisters-in-law Geraldine Gilboy and Geneva Lyons, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Edward.

Allen Peter Stahl

Allen Peter Stahl of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 83 years at Kathy Hospice on 20 November 2011. Allen was born in Beechwood in the town of Scott, Sheboygan County, on 15 August 1928, son of Arno and Olive (Ketter) Stahl. He was united in marriage to Lila A. Weninger on 09 October 1954 at Holy Angels Church in West Bend. Allen graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1946 where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. After graduation, he played hardball in the Land ‘O Lakes league under management of Killian Honeck. He worked on the family farm until 1951, when he honorably served his country with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Following his discharge in 1953, he became employed by H.J. Lay Lumber Company in Kewaskum and served as its manager for 9 years. In 1962, he became manager of Barker Lumber Company in Random Lake until his retirement in 1990. Allen was an avid sportsman, passionate about hunting, fishing, especially on Lake Michigan. He was also active in the Random Lake Gun Club and an Honorary Member of the Beechwood Fire Department.
Allen was survived by his loving wife, Lila of 57 years, four children, Christine (Tom) C...of West Bend, Thomas (fiancée Elizabeth Scharenbroch) Stahl of New Holstein, John (Denise) Stahl of Kewaskum, and Michael (Lori) Stahl of Delavan; seven grandchildren, April Stahl of Denver, Alex Calenberg of the U.S Marines Afghanistan, Ashlee, Marisa and Dawson Stahl, and Mitchell and Mason Stahl; one great-grandchild, Jovie Lynn McDonough, Denver; sister-in-law, Gloria Bonlender of West Bend; special relative, Agnes Vorpahl of West Bend; and many other special relatives and friends. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, special cousin William Vorpahl Jr., brother-in-laws Lester Bonlender and Jerome Kandel, and sister-in-law Angeline Kandel.
A Mass of Christian burial in memory of Allen, was held on Saturday, 26 November at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 South 7th Avenue, West Bend where Father Nathan Reesman presided. Visitation with family and friends was held at the church on Saturday, 26 November 2011. Entombment with full military honors followed at Washington County Memorial Park.

Joseph W. Heppe, also known as Joe, passed away at the age of 82 years on Tuesday, 22 November 2011 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA. He was born to Joseph and Lillian (Schmitt) Heppe on 21 July 1929 in the town of Polk. Joe served in the Korean War and upon his return he worked on the family farm.
He was survived by his brothers, Harold and Ralph. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert and Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Sunday, 27 November at St. Peter Catholic Church (200 East Washington Street, Slinger) where Father Richard Stoffel presided. The visitation was at church prior to the Mass. Private interment took place at the (new) St. Peter Cemetery.

James J. Redlinger, also known as Jim, of Newburg, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 79 years on Tuesday, 22 November 2011 at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center, West Bend. James was born on 16 April 1932 in the town of Saukville, Ozaukee County, son John and Cecelia (Bahr) Redlinger. Jim was a lifelong resident of Newburg. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he worked for the Gehl Company until his retirement.
James was survived by his sister Norma Gildemeister of Eagle River, his brother Emil Redlinger of Milwaukee, his brother-in-law Robert Frederick of Kenosha, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lorraine Frederick and Bea Harrer, and his brother, Tom Redlinger.

Kevin Wilkinson of the town of Addison, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, was called to his heavenly home at the age of 46 years on Sunday evening, 27 November 2011 after a long and brave battle with cancer.
He was survived by his loving wife, Julie; sons Dylan, Gavyn, and Brody, Tyler of Boone, North Carolina, and Logan of Port Washington; sisters, Carolyn Sloan of Beaverton, Oregon, and Sarah Clucas of Austin, Texas; brothers-in-law, Jeff Denison of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Andrew Raasch of Hartford; sister-in-law Cindi Hetzer of Addison; nephews and nieces Matthew and Jordan Sloan, Katherine Denison and Avery Clucas; parents John and Vickie Wilkinson of Austin, Texas; parents-in-law, Dennis and Carol Moehr of Addison, and Richard and Susan Raasch of Hartford. Kevin was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Denison; and father, Roy Jerry Barlow.
He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the Special Forces. Kevin’s passion in life was his family and football. He moved to Wisconsin in 1995 and found the love of his life in Julie. He loved the Denver Broncos and was assistant football coach for the Slinger High School Owls, working primarily with running backs and receivers. Some of his most joyous moments were spent walking the sidelines of the Slinger games, coaching and encouraging each player. Wanting to contribute to the fight against cancer for others, Kevin organized the first Coaches Vs. Cancer event this past September. The support of Slinger High School and Hartford Union High School athletics ensured a record setting amount of funds raised and donated to the American Cancer Society. Kevin’s family life was enriched by his enthusiasm for every aspect of living. He loved playing with his wife and children, teasing his sisters, debating politics with his parents, working in the yard, outdoor barbeques, and engaging in all sports whether as a spectator or participant. We will miss his tall tales, warm smile, winning attitude, and the generous love of our husband, father, son, brother and friend.
Funeral services in celebration of Kevin’s life were held on Thursday, 01 December at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Slinger, 799 St. Paul Drive. Pastor James Castillo officiated and burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Visitation was on Thursday at the church prior to the service.

Henry C. Teders, 83, a long time resident of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, entered into eternal life at the age of 83 years after a sudden, but brief illness, on 25 November 2011. Henry was born 18 April 1928, son of Joseph and Beatrice (Krienbrink) Teders. He grew up as a farm boy from the fields of Avilla, Indiana in a family of nine children. He was a man of honor, serving our country as a sergeant in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952. He was a dedicated employee at the West Bend Company for 37 years, retiring in 1987. Henry married his soul mate, Shirley Ann Koller in 1950. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cared for his family with the love and dedication our Heavenly Father has for all of his children on earth. We are all blessed as we carry with us his never-ending legacy of love.

David P. Riehle passed away at the age of 69 years on Monday, 28 November 2011 at his residence. David was born on 09 November 1942 in Cresco, Iowa, son of Wilfrid and Marie (McKenna) Riehle. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, and served in the United States Navy for four years. David retired from Tower/A.O. Smith after 33 years and then drove semi trucks. He enjoyed hunting and collecting John Deere farm toys. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Allenton Veterans of Foreigh Wars Post in Allenton.

Sherman A. Jackson of Jackson, Washington county, Wisconsin, USA, formerly of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at the age of 98 years on Friday, 04 November 2011 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Sherman was born on 10 October 1913 in Braham, Isanti County, Minnesota to Frithiof and Ellen (Carlson) Jackson. He was united in marriage to Evelyn McClelland on 23 May 1953 in Red Lodge, Montana. He was the hospital administrator of Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Grand Island for 30 years. Sherman was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. He loved traveling and camping. Sherman loved to work with his hands in woodworking and finishing. He loved good music. He led a simple life with the priorities of God, family and work.

Charles Francis Mullen formerly of Seabrook, Texas, USA died peacefully on 28 March 2012 at the age of 85 years. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles Lawrence Mullen and Victoria (Mackiewicz) Mullen Rockafellow. Leaving behind his children Sara (Chad), Dan, Patrick (Mary) and Kam and Grandchildren: Chloe, Lisa and John. Charles was trained in the air force to be a pilot, and worked as the Southern Regional Manager for National Merchandising of Green Bay. His real passion was consulting on new ideas; he had several patents and awards from these efforts. He was instrumental in the development of the Houston Inventors Association and the founder of the Inventors Network of the Capital Area, Washington, DC. Family of Charles would like to thank Elaine and her staff at Ellen's Home for providing a loving, and comfortable environment for dad's last years. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation for a proposed fountain in his memory at Ellen's Home N113 W16358 Sylvan Circle, Germantown, Washington County, Wisconsin 53022. Private graveside service were held.

He was the sole proprietor of Inland Surveyors; a Milwaukee and Chicago based Marine Surveying firm now operated by Dan. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family.

Richard H.E. Smith, also known as Dick, age 82 years, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away Monday, 27 February 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in the town of Polk.
He was born on 12 July 1929 in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County to the late Hilbert and Edna (nee Klumb) Smith. Dick was graduated from Wauwatosa High School in the class of 1947. Dick then attended University of Wisconsin Madison Campus and earned his degree in mechanical engineering in 1952.
On 19 September 1953 Dick was united in marriage to Marilyn Jensen in Milwaukee. He then served in the United States Army and was stationed in Berlin. After his discharge they moved to West Bend and Dick became employed at the West Bend Company as a design engineer. At the time of his retirement he was the manager of manufacturing. Richaed was also chairman of the board and later president of the West Bend Company Employee Credit Union for several years.
Dick was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ and sang in the church choir. He was a member and past master of the West Bend Masonic Lodge #138 F & AM, along with being a DeMolay advisor. Dick was one of the cofounders of the Musical Masquers, and played trumpet in the River City Irregulars Band. He had a great love for abandoned and homeless animals.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn; three sons, Richard (Leah) Smith II of Palantine, Illinois, Tim (Juel) Smith of Green Bay, and Peter (Debbie) Smith of West Bend; nine grandchildren, Bradd (Alissa), Anthony (Laura), Alexander (Catrina), Mason, Lauren, Alexandria, Alyssa, Eric, and Adam; six great-grandchildren, Darren, Bryce, Zachary, Lily, Eleanor, and Skyler; a sister, Jean Bauer of Shorewood; a sister-inlaw, Edith (George) VanHart of Atlanta; two brothers-inlaw, Richard (Gail) Jensen of Mesa, Arizona, and Tom (Ronna) Jensen of Ogden, Utah; other relatives and many friends.

Donald E. Finke, age 83 years, passed away on Friday, 24 February 2012. Donald was born on 11 August 1928 in Mayville, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, to Willard and Elizabeth (nee Neider). He married Virginia Coulter on 01 June 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria, Illinois. Donald was graduated from Mayville High School in 1946. He served in the United States Army, in a tank division, and was honorably discharged in 1952. Donald was employed at the West Bend Company for almost 40 years and was a foreman in the press department for many years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and an occasional fishing trip to Canada with his family. He retired 11 December 1987.
Donald is survived by his children Richard (Cathryn) of Waukesha, Waukesha County, Michael (LaJeanne) of DeForest, Dane County, and Terry ( Lisa ) of Jackson, Washington County; granddaughters Eryn, Ashley, and Heather and grandsons Maxwell and Jeromy; and great-grandchild Braylen Keifer. (nee Groth) Cram on 12 September 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Ozaukee County. Glen graduated from high school in Ladysmith in 1947. He worked for
Stokley and then joined the military, where he served as a Sargeant First Class in the 9th Regiment, 2nd Infantry Tank Company during the Korean War. After he was discharged honorably from the United States Army, Glen
went on to work in construction for over 30 years with the Oscar Drumel Company and Seltzer Ornst. Glen retired from the construction industry in 1988.
Glen enjoyed playing cards, sporting events, NASCAR racing, traveling and volunteering. He had such a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and friends. Glen was a member of the Grafton Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355 as well as the VFW. Glen is survived by his wife, Doris Cram; daughters, Debra Musil and Dawn (Mark) Eurich; and sisters, Nora Jean (Tony) Markowski and Beverly (Darryl) McCarthy. He is further survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dear brother of Phyllis (Alan) Grunewald of East Lansing, Michigan, Billie Wenzel of Irvine, California and David (Karen) Schubert of Jacksonville, Florida. Loving cousin of Beth (James) Basta of Clemmons, North Carolina. He is also survived by his devoted nephew and caregiver Schubert (Christine) Wenzel of Glendale, Arizona and other nieces, nephews and friends. Burt was a master electrician in the Milwaukee area for many years. Memorial service were held on Saturday, 25 February at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 West Thunderbird Road, Peoria, Arizaon 85381.

Dennis Gindt
M, b. 24 January 1944, d. 13 March 2012
Dennis O. Gindt, also known as Mickey, age 71 years, of Kewaskum, Washington Country, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, 13 March 2012. Dennis was born on 24 January 1941 in the town of LeRoy to Joseph and Viola (nee Mueller) Gindt. On 12 September 1964, he was united in marriage to Diane Schraufnagel at St. Andrews Catholic Church in LeRoy. He served in the United States Army.
He was employed at Gehl Company in West Bend for 40 years and the Wisconsin Auto Auction of Brownsville for the last 10 years. He loved spending time with his wife and children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He was a member of Gehl Hexelbank Club, West Bend/Barton Sportsman Club, and the Kewaskum Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384. Dennis was a cancer survivor for over 37 years with four different types of cancer. Fighting it courageously ’till the end. He was our HERO!
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane; children, Michael of West Bend, Michelle (Todd) Krapfl of Lomira, Randy (Patti) of West Bend, Gregg of Kewaskum; grandchildren, Amanda, Chase, Megan, Zach, Jessica, Jay, Christine, and Kristopher; great-grandson, Landen; brother, Joe (Joan) Gindt of West Bend; brother-in-law Armond Sterr of El Paso, Texas and sister-in-law Helen Gindt of Mayville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd (Rose-ann) of Mayville, Ron (Karen) Schraufnagel of Hartford, Doris (Tom) Davidsen of Walden, Colo., and Darlene (Dick) Vollmer of St. Germain. He is further survived by a special nephew, Mark Gindt; special friends, Mary and Jerry, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Sterr; brother, Marvin; parents-in-law, Beno and Maxine Schraufnagel; and sister-in-law, Christine Schraufnagel.
The funeral service for Dennis was held on Saturday, 17 March at St. Lucas Lutheran Church (1417 Parkview Drive, Kewaskum 53040) with Pastor Troy Swenson presiding. The visitation times was on Friday, 16 March and Saturday, March 17 at the church only. Interment took place at Ledgeview Cemetery in Fond du Lac.

Max L. Ruffert of Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, departed this world on 26 April 2012 at the age of 88 years. He was born 11 June 1923. Beloved husband of the late LaVerne (nee Learned). Loving father of Gail (Dennis) Mudler and Gary (Linda). Loving grandpa of Kim (Dan) Rahfaldt, Bob (Jenny) Mudler, Kelly (Ben) Croatt and Courtney (Jimmy) Ingman. Loving great-grandpa of Dylan, Amanda, Ellie and Joey. Further survived by one brother Jack (Betty) Ruffert, sister-in-law Marian Ruffert, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by brothers Donald, Herbert and Marvin.
