John P. Van Sickle

      John Van Sickle went to join his beloved wife Nadine at the age of 85 years on Tuesday, 07 August 2012. John was born on 26 December 1926 in La Crosse, La Cross County, Wisconsin, USA. Dearest father of John R. Van Sickle and Julie Van Sickle. Loving grandfather of Hannah and Sarah. Cherished companion and best friend of Alice Dickmann. Also survived by a brother-in-law, other family and friends.

John was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II, a retired Midwest sales manager with R-Way furniture located in the Mercantile Exchange in Chicago, a longtime interior designer and a member of the Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Peter Wollner Post 288. He was also an avid Bridge player.

Visitation was on Friday, 10 August at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 607 Wauwatosa Road, Cedarburg. Funeral Service was on Friday. Interment followed at Immanuel Cemetery.

Joseph William Gingery

M, b. 10 May 1922, d. 24 July 2012
      Joseph William Gingery of Sun City Center, Florida and Colgate, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 90 years of an apparent heart attack at Milwaukee Mitchell Airport on Tuesday, 24 July 2012. He was known as "Bill" to his family. Joseph was born the fifth of six children to Walter and Clara Gingery in Indianapolis on 10 May 1922. Mr. Gingery graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis in 1940 where his father served as Principal. Mr. Gingery entered Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana in September of 1940 where he met Pamela Doris Nelson of Palmerton, Pennsylvania. They married in November, 1941. With America's entry into the war, Gingery was drafted and served in the US Air Force, eventually stationed in England as part of the Eighth Air Force, where he held the position of waist gunner on B-24 crews which saw action over Europe. The end of the European War brought Gingery home to be reunited with Pamela and their three children. He entered Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana on the first of the Ernie Pyle Scholarships, and completed his Bachelor Degree in Journalism, graduating in 1947.

His life-long interest in newspapers began in the Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis, where he edited and published his own weekly paper. Following his graduation, he took a position with the Evansville (Indiana) Courier. Gingery was hired by the Milwaukee Journal in 1951, settling with the family on Town Hall Road in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County. In 1956 the family moved to a house on Willow Creek Road in Colgate where the family lived for many years. Gingery was for many years Makeup Editor at the Milwaukee Journal and taught typography as an adjunct professor at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He retired from the Journal in 1988. Following Pamela's death in August 1979, Gingery married a Journal colleague, Ruth Anna Wilson, in August 1980. Ms. Wilson, who held various editorial positions at the Journal, introduced Gingery to the joys of international travel. After Wilson's retirement in 1986, the couple undertook a major renovation of their Colgate house and moved there full time. Wilson died in July, 2002, in Colgate. Gingery married Shirley McCormick Peterson of Sun City Center, Florida in August 2003. His passion for travel took the couple on many trips, including an around-the-world trip on the Queen Elizabeth II. Mrs. Gingery died in February 2012, in Sun City Center. Tennis and basketball were Gingery's favorite sports. A life-long athlete, he played both well into his 70s, earning the title of "Instant Offense" from the Journal recreational basketball consortium. Gingery contributed to the community as a Boy Scout troop leader and served on various School Boards in Indiana and Wisconsin, including the committee that founded Washington High in Germantown, Washington, where he continued to fund a scholarship for promising college-bound graduates. Mr. Gingery was also a strong advocate and supporter of birth control.

Survivors include brothers Robert Gingery (Elizabeth), Richard Gingery, (June), both of Sun City Center; sons Walter Gingery (William Pilgreen), Seattle, Washington, Joel Gingery, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Robben Gingery, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lars Gingery (Sherry Rasmussen), Chicago, Illinois, Andrew Gingery (Wei Liu), Brookline, Mass., eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Son Nelson Gingery (Susan) died in 2000.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, 25 August at Newsroom Pub - Milwaukee Press Club, 137 East Wells Street, Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. Family interment and memorial was private.

Richard R. Heppner

      Richard R. Heppner passed away at the age of 57 years on Monday,13 August 2012. Richard was born in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, on 02 December 1954, son of Raymond and Rosemary (nee Mullins) Heppner. He was graduated from Hartford Union High School Class of ’73 and then joined the National Guard. He married Roxanne (nee Behr) on 24 November 1973 at St. John Lutheran Church in Slinger. Washington County. Richard worked in maintenance at several companies, including the former Mirco Design Company. He loved spending time in Rhinelander, fishing, watching science fiction movies and doing word search puzzles. Richard was an avid fan of NASCAR racing. Above all, he enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the National Guard and Dart Club.

Rick was survived by his loving wife, Roxanne; cherished children, Jeni (Mike) Stopar of Eden, Chris of Campbellsport, Jeanna (Nick) Camp of Slinger, and Megan (special friend, Kris) of Lomira; beloved grandchildren, Ally, Leanna and Brooklynn Stopar, Easton and Lily Heppner, and Kaleb and Hayden Camp; sister, Cindy Weinke of Waupun; brother, John Heppner of Muncie, Indiana; brothers-in-law, Alan and Ronnie Behr of Slinger; nieces, Sarah (Aaron) Weinberger of Waupun and Ashley Weinke of Green Bay; and nephew, Eric (Katie) Weinke of Knobnoster, Missouri. He is further survived by his beloved companion, Dixie, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Robert; parents-in-law, Elmer and Betty Behr; and Aunt Sharon Cheeseman.

Private services were held on 31 August in Rhinelander.

Donald L. Moecker

      Donald L. Moecker of Brookfield, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA died at the age of 74 years on Saturday, 22 December 2001. Donald was born on 06 April 1927. He was the beloved husband of Grace K. Weitermenn. Donald was the father of Donald (Roberta), Pamela (John C.) Maxson - Cooper, Linda Breen. He was the grandfather of Katherine and Sarah Moecker, Michelle R. Maxson, Lindsay, Brett and Tyler Breen. He was further survived by other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Entombment was in Wisconsin Memorial Park. Visitation was on Wednesdayat the funeral home.

Donald was an active and long serving member in the Republican Party of Wisconsin and chaired the 9th District, long time member of Brookfield Lutheran Church, World War II United States Navy Veteran, retired in 1992 from Kearny-Trecker Corporation (Falk Corporation) and since has been working for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Ronald W. Mason

      Ronald W. Mason, also known as Ron, of Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA, died unexpectedly at the age of 80 years on Tuesday, 14 August 2012. Ron was born in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County on 04 June 1932, son of Charles and Veronica (nee Doyle) Mason. He was united in marriage to Doris Bell on 10 January 1959. Ron was employed at Wisconsin Energy for over 44 years. He was a member of St. Mary Parish and former member of St. Anthony Parish, both of Menomonee Falls. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Ronald was survived by his son, Father Brian G. Mason of Milwaukee; daughter, Andria (Tim) Farrand of Germantown; and grandchildren, Tony and Ally Farrand. Ron was also survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris and his parents.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, 21 August at St. Mary Catholic Parish, N89W16297 Cleveland Avenue, Menomonee Falls, 53051. His son, Father Brian, officiated. The visitation was held on Tuesday at the church. Burial with military honors was held on Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Menomonee Falls.

Alfred L. Schlecht

      Alfred L. Schlecht, also known as Al, of Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, passed awayat the age of 81 years on 18 August 2012 at the Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County. Al was born in Marshfield, Dodge County on 29 June 1931, son of Michael and Katherine (nee Hupfel) Schlecht. He was united in marriage to Haidee "Dee" Kipps on 10 January 1959 in Hollywood. Al was a graduate of Marquette University, served in the United States Navy and was employed by Moebius Printing Co. as a sales executive for 37 years. He also served on almost every committee of the Grafton Village Board over the past 37 years including: Finance, Public Works, Public Safety, Board of Review, Community Activities, CATV, Plan Commission and the Joint Town of Grafton –Village of Grafton Ad-Hoc Committee. Al was the past president of the International Institute of Wisconsin. He was appointed to the Milwaukee River Revitalization Board and was an Eagle Scout.

Al was survived by his wife, Haidee; children, Sue (Lee) Lurquin, Paul (Kathy) Schlecht, Steven (Sherri) Schlecht, Michael (Virginia Kuhn) Schlecht, Peter (Thu Anh) Schlecht and Kathy (Ron Bruns) Schlecht; and grandchildren, Kaitlin and Ryan Lurquin; Leah, Anna and Maria Schlecht; Alex Schlecht; Eric and Melissa Jensen; Samantha and Coco Schlecht. He was further survived by three sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Alfred was preceded in death by his sister, Rose; and his brother, Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, 21 August at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1619 Washington Street, Grafton. Interment was at the church cemetery. Visitation was at the church on Tuesday.

Edward J. Hicken

      Edward J. Hicken, also known as Ed, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 85 years on Saturday, 18 August 2012 at St. Josephs Hospital in the town of Polk. Ed was born in Fond du Lac on 07 June 1927, son of Edward and Nellie (nee Little) Hicken. He grew up on a farm in rural Fond du Lac and graduated from Fond du Lac High School in the class of 1944. Ed was drafted into the United States Army on 03 August 1945. He was honored and proud to serve his country as part of the “Occupation Forces” in France and Germany during early post World War II. Ed worked as a company clerk for the 541st Quartermaster Base Depot in Reims, France, then as court secretary for military judges in Giessen, Germany and was promoted to staff sergeant. Ed was discharged on 11 June 1947 and went on to serve in the Army Reserves for six more years until April 1953.

Ed studied radio technology and repair at DeVry Institute, attended MSOE’s electrical engineering department and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he met his future wife, Mary. On 27 December 1952, he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Leverich at St. John Lutheran church in Sparta. Together, they made their home in Madison where Ed worked for Evans Radio and TV, performing radio and television repair. In 1955, they moved to West Bend and began Loomans & Hicken TV & Appliance with his good friend and business partner, David Loomans. The business provided sales and service for radios, stereos, televisions, major home appliances, and other home electronics to the greater West Bend and Hartford areas. In 1976, when David Loomans retired, Ed took over sole ownership of the business and it became Hicken TV & Appliance until he retired in 1984. He was a member of the Jaycees, West Bend Area Chamber of Commerce, West Bend Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post 36 and Hon-E-Kor Golf Course. Ed enjoyed golfing, going to daily coffee meetings with his friends, fishing, flying RC planes, woodworking and tinkering in his workshop to repair most anything.

Edward was survived by his wife, Mary of West Bend; three sons, Jeffery (Linda) Hicken of Madison, Michael (Sheila) Hicken of Rochester, Minnesota, and Thomas (Laurie) Hicken of Allenton; five grandchildren, Sarah, Graham, Brianna, Amelia, and Alyssa Hicken; three brothers-in-law, James (Elaine) Leverich, Robert (Claire) Leverich, and Robert (Shirley) Cuff; niece, Judy Cuff; and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marian Cuff, and sister-inlaw, Sara Leverich.

Funeral services in remembrance of Ed were held on Friday, 24 August at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 809 South Sixth Avenue, West Bend where Vicar David Kellerman officiated. Full military honors followed the service. Visitation was at the church on Friday. Inurnment was on Saturday in Washington County Memorial Park.

Allen George Roberts

M, b. 08 February 1943, d. 16 August 2012
      Allen George Roberts was born in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, on 08 February 1943, son of Allen Percival Roberts and Helen Marcilene (Haas) Roberts. He grew up in New Berlin, Waukesha County and attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he met his wife, Helen Norsman. In 1967, they were married in Windsor. Allen taught elementary vocal music for 41 years, in Racine, Racine County and Cedarburg, Ozaukee County. Besides making music his career, he was multi-talented. Allen was a handyman who persisted. If he didn’t know how to do something, he read, asked questions and tried. His willingness to learn and his persistence helped him build a house on Washington Island, do plumbing, electrical, drywall, fine woodworking, gardening and car repairs. He built several guitars from scratch, including bending the wood into shape. Allen did intricate stringed instrument repair for music stores and individuals for many years. After retirement, Allen and Helen moved to Wausau in 2006.

At the age of 69 years, Allen passed away at his home supported by the Ministry Home Hospice on Thursday, 16 August 2012 . He was survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Sally (Stephen) Schmidt of Wausau; two granddaughters, Maggie and Tessa; brother, Paul (Lana) Roberts of Waukesha; sister, Crystal (Scott) Johnson of Racine; and brother-in-law, Cliff Mills of Denver. Allen was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Mills, on 30 June 2012.

A celebration of Allen’s life was held on Thursday, 23 August at First Presbyterian Church in Wausau. Reverend Dr. Stephen Wright and Reverend Joy Nelson-Jeffers officiated. The family received friends following the service.

Joseph D. Moser

      Joseph D. Moser, also known as Joe, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, went to his heavenly home at the age of 96 years at the Lighthouse of West Bend on Saturday 25 August 2012. Joseph was born on 08 February 1916 in Alco, Colorado, son of David and Mary Girardi Moser. Joseph became an orphan at the age 8 along with his 8 siblings. The children attended Mooseheart School in Illinois. Mooseheart was a vocational school and Joe was quite an athlete in figure skating and football. On 24 June 1939 he married Margaret T. Rohlinger at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Joe served his country in World War II in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945, in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Joe worked at Gehl Manufacturing for 43 years and retired from there. He and his wife Marge made rosaries, quilts, Stations of the Cross and other items for missions in Nicaragua. Joe was an avid deer hunter and loved to go fishing. He made most of his fishing lures. Joe could build or fix anything and had a great garden.

Joseph was survived by his brother Mike Crowley of New Jersey, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marge, and seven siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday 29 August at St. Matthew Catholic Church, corner of Main and Helena Streets in Campbellsport. Reverend Neil Zinthefer officiated. Cremation followed with inurnment in the parish cemetery. Visitation was on Wednesday.

Allan G. Schuster

      Allan G. Schuster of 107 Cedar Ridge Drive, West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend on Friday, 24 August 2012. A visitation was held on Wednesday, 29 August at St. Paul Lutheran Church (Halfway Church) in the town of Lomira, Dodge County. A funeral service took place on Wednesday at the church where the Reverends Matthew Kuske and Robert Hein officiated. Interment followed at St. Petri Cemetery in the town of Theresa. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Theresa Miller-Justman-Guelig American Legion Post 270.

Allan was born 91 years previous to the day on 24 August 1921, son of Willard and Mathilda (nee Koenig) Schuster. He was united in marriage to Edna H. Neitzel on 07 August 1945 in Theresa. Allan was a 1932 graduate of Mayville High School. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army where he served for 2 1/2 years. While in service, Allan was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. He was a cheese maker for 14 years and retired as a mason. Allan was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Bend. He was a lifetime member of the Theresa Miller-Justman-Guelig American Legion Post 270 and a past member of the Mayville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10170. In his spare time, Allan loved traveling, camping, sheepshead, socializing, rummaging, his 25+ plus trips to Canada fishing with his wife and Rube. He also enjoyed the special time he had in 2010 being part of an Honor Flight. Allan loved the winters spent with his loving wife and relatives and friends in Apache Junction, Arizona.

Allan was survived by his wife of 67 years, Edna; five children; David (Jeanie) Schuster of Front Royal, Virginia, Kristine Becker of Florida, Richard (Betty) Schuster of Kewaskum, Elaine (Tom) Walters of West Bend and Dwaine (Nancy) Schuster of Kewaskum. His sister, Janet Checolinski. His brother, Glenn Schuster. His grandchildren, Angie Marlow, Kasey (Sarah) Becker, Kerrie (Tony) Lischka, Kelly (fiancé Chris) Becker, Michael (Cindy) Schuster, Rachaell Frank, Tina Merkt, Eric Merkt, Paul (Andrea) Merkt, Jim (Colleen) Walters, Matthew Walters, Stephanie (Tim) Coughlin, Lynn (Jon) Schmidt, Sandra (Kenny) Asselin, and Jessica Schuster. Sixteen great grandchildren. Eight sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Rube, Carl, Howard, and Kenneth. Four grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Kory and Jason.

      Louis P. Konop met his Lord and Savior at the age of 90 years on 26 August 2012. He was predeceased in 2004 by his wife, Agnes, of 57 years. Beloved father of Judith (Michael) Poliskie, Jean (Alan) Warburton, Robert (Susan), Mary (the late Dennis) Orth and Richard (Anne) Konop. Dear grandfather of Daniel (Machelle) Warburton, Louis (Gina) Poliskie, Bernadette (Kevin) Brockman, Michael (Misty) Warburton, Jennifer (Jim) Acker, Deborah Warburton, Tracy (John) Wood and Julia Orth. Brother of Bernice (Giles) Donlevy. Further survived by 14 loving great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Visitation was on Wednesday, 29 August at St. Mary Catholic Church, N89 W16297 Cleveland Avenue in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. USA, until the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Konop was a WWII United States Army veteran. He retired after 42 years of service at Square D. Louis was a volunteer at St. Anne's Home for the Elderly for 25 years.

William Conrad Jr.

      William Conrad Jr., also known as Bill, passed away at the age of 86 years at his home in West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, on Friday, 24 August 2012. Bill was born in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County on 09 March 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Norma (nee Hausfelt) Conrad.

Bill served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was actively involved in the Pacific Theater of War. Joining the Navy right after graduating from high school, he once said he “became a man overnight.” When the war ended, Bill entered college on the GI Bill and received degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering. He later received a master degree in business administration. Bill retired from GE-Hotpoint Division over 30 years ago. He has resided at the Cedar Ridge Senior Community for the past 22 years. Bill will be sadly missed by his dear friend and dancing partner, Ruth Duenk, as well as many other friends and family. He will be remembered for his kindness, love of cars and his desire to be smartly dressed for any occasion.

A gathering to “Remember Bill” was held on Friday, 31 August at Pine Ridge Condominiums, 2107 Pine Ridge Court in Grafton, Ozaukee County.

      Edmund J. Milner, also known as Eddie, passed away at the age of 66 years at West Allis Select Memorial Hospital on Sunday, 12 August 2012. Edmund was born 01 June 1946, son of Edmund M. and Gertrude (nee Goodanetz) Milner. Eddie was united in marriage to Susan Jambura on 03 Septembe 1977 at the First United Methodist Church in Hartford. Eddie stood for truth and justice. Everyone who knew him knows he lived life marching to the beat of his own drum.

Eddie was survived by his wife Susan; his daughter Amy (Glen) Hageman; two grandkids Colin and Eli; mother Gertrude Milner; brother Ron (Barbara) Milner; nephew Joseph (Julie) Milner and their children Joey and Emily. He was further survived by other relatives and friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his father Edmund M. Milner and his brother Joseph F. Milner.

The family greeted relatives and friends on Thursday, 16 August at the Shimon Funeral Home. A "Celebration of Life" with Military Honors for Eddie was held on Thursday after visitation.

Marvin A. Schellinger

      Marvin A. Schellinger, also know as Marv, passed away at the age of 78 years at Aurora Medical Center in Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, on Friday, 10 August 2012. Mass of Christian Burial for Marvin was held Monday, 23 August at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford where Father David LaPlante officiated. The family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at the church. Interment was at St. Kilian Cemetery in Hartford.

Marvin was born on 03 July 1934, son of Henry and Caroline (nee Kraemer) Schellinger. He married Sharon Wareenski in October of 1958 at St. Kilian Catholic Church. Marvin and Sharon had five children together: Teresa (Wayne) Steinbrook of Necedah, Tom (Trudy) Schellinger of Hurley, Tracy (John) Rienemann of Springfield, Virginia, Todd (Jen) Schellinger of Hubertus, and Tammy (Brian) Coon of Maryville, Kentucky. Sharon preceded Marvin in death on 13 November 1984. Marvin later married Jacqueline Saegert on 29 November 1986. Jackie had four children from a previous marriage: Dave (Linda) Saegert, Ray Saegert, Rick Saegert, and Lisa Peters. Marvin was survived by his wife Jacqueline Schellinger, their children, twenty-one grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was further survived by his sister Adeline (Bill) Meyer and Marilyn Ralph. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Caroline, his first wife Sharon, two sons Michael and Timothy, a brother Stewart, and a brother-in-law Donny.

After Marvin served in the United States Army during the Korean War, he worked at Schellinger Plumbing & Heating for his father and later took over the business following his father’s passing.

Dennis A. Keller

M, b. 22 July 1941, d. 20 July 2010
      Dennis A Keller passed away peacefully at the age of 70 years after a long battle with Alzheimers on 20 July 2012. Dennis resided at the Wisconsin State Veterans Home for the past nine years. He was born in Port Washington, Wisconsin on 22 July 1941, son of Ervin and Caroline (nee Erdmann) Keller. Dennis served in the United States Army from 1962-1964. He was united in marriage to Sandra Crass at St Peters United Church of Christ in Saukville, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, on 30 April 1977. Dennis liked horseback riding and taught many 4-H children how to ride and take care of horses. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed being in the woods. His greatest joy was to teach others to enjoy the outdoors. Dennis loved spending time with his grandchildren before his disease took over.

Dennis was survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandy; his children: Nicole (Anthony) Zane and Angela (Todd) Habermann; his grandchildren: Analiese, LoriAnne, Daniel, Thomas and William Zane; Dustin and Nicholas Habermann. He was a good friend to many and will be missed.

A Memorial service was held on Thursday 26 July at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory W63 N527 Hanover Avenue in Cedarburg. The family received friends on Thursday prior to the service.

Charles L. Klatt

      Charles L. Klatt quietly passed away at the age of 67 years on Memorial Day, 28 May 2012. Charles was born on 24 December 1944. He was the dear husband of Nancy (nee Blazich) of 44 years. Best friend and dad of Tim (Rhonda) Klatt and Jeff (Holly) Klatt. Proud grandpa of Leesa, Lance, Logan, Callahan and Sawyer. Brother of Steve, Kathy Siehndel, Jim, Tony and the late George. He was further survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation was on Saturday, 02 June at Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church, W196 N9525 Cross View Way in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA, followed by a Memorial Service.

Charlie proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

      James W. Lape, also known as Jim, of Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 69 years on Sunday, 29 July 2012. James was born on 14 May 1943 in Hammond, Indiana, son of James and Ethel (nee Merrill) Lape. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for 20 years.

James is survived by his wife, Irene Lape (nee Pamperin) of Menomonee Falls; six children: Lisa (Tyree) Weddles of West Bend, Kelly (Richard) Gill of Marlboro, New Jersey, Deborah (Dan) Pine of Whittier, North Carolina, Kris (Dave) Friedli of Hyrum, Utah, Kasey (fiance, Ryan Rogers) Hornsby of Hyrum, Utah, and Tyler (fiancee, Rachel Remak) Lape of Hyrum, Utah; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Janice (Daniel) Austgen of Hebron, Indiana; sister- in-law, Bea Pamperin of Menomonee Falls; three brothers-in-law: Mark (Betty) Pamperin, of Allenton, James (Carolyn) Pamperin of West Bend, and Charles (Chris) Pamperin of West Bend; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and aunt, Ruth Merrill.

Funeral services in remembrance of Jim were held on Thursday, 02 August at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. Visitation was on Thursday at the church. Cremation followed and inurnment was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Menomonee Falls.

      Edward A. Jakubowski was born to Eternal Life at the age of 92 years on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Beloved husband of Genevieve "Jean" (nee Draczka) for 66 years. Dear brother of Collette Jakubowski-Chess. Loving father of Dennis (Marcia), James, Robert (Julie), Thomas (Lisa) and Jeanine (Greg) Godina. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Grant, Bradley, Keri, Jessie (Kinga), Jaime (John) Yaeger, Joseph (Brynn), Andrew (Kristin), Gregory and Michelle. Edward was further survived by 5 greatgrandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Edward proudly served in the United States Army and is a member of the Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA, American Legion Post 382. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Edward will be remembered as a kind and gentle man.

Visitation was on Thursday, 16 August at the Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial took place on Friday, 17 August at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, N88 W17658 Christman Road in Menomonee Falls. Procession to St. Mary's Cemetery immediately followed the mass.

Clarence Herbst Jr.

      Clarence Herbst Jr., also known as George, of Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA, was born to Eternal Life at the age of 86 years on Monday, 03 September 2012. Clarance was born in the town of Trenton, Washington County, son of Clarence and Irma Herbst on 26 April 1926. He was a World War II veteran. When Clarence returned home from the war, he married the love of his life, the late Anna Mae "Maisie" (nee Blohm), on 11 December 1948. They celebrated 60 years together just prior to her death. He spent the majority of his career in the baking industry as a route salesman. Clarence retired in 1987. George loved to hunt, fish, camp, and spend time in the great outdoors with his family and friends. He loved to reminisce with his life stories.

Clarence was deeply missed by his children Sandra (Randy) Schneider, Michael (Donna), James (Sandy), Steven (Jill), the late Kathy (Doug) Graff and David (Lee Ann). He was the loving grandfather of Margaret (Brian) Schneider-Curtiss, Matthew (Sara) Schneider, Heather and Amanda Herbst, Eric and Brian Herbst, Amy (William) Van Dalen, Adam Herbst, Jessica (Troy) Paczesny, Danielle Graff, Nicole (Eric) Crew and Erica and Lucas Herbst. Proud great-grandfather of Annelise, Nora, and Amelia Paczesny, Ruby, Grace, and Noah Schneider, Cassandra Karius, Jack Curtiss and Iain Crew. Brother of Richard (Pat) and Donald Herbst. Brother-in-law of Maurine Herbst and Edward (Lena) Blohm. Preceded in death by his brothers Harvey and Gerald Herbst. Further survived by numerous other family and friends.

Funeral service were held on Saturday, 08 September at the funeral home. Visitation was poior to the service.

Waverly Parris

      Waverly Parris, also known as Wig, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away at the age of 87 years on Sunday, 16 September 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Nancy Adams Parris. Waverly was survived by his son, Greg Parris, Flowery Branch, Georgia; daughters and son-inlaw, Jennifer and John Olmstead, Norcross, Georgia and Jayne Dehaan, Seattle, Washington; and sister, Mildred Ingrassia, New York, New York.

Mr. Parris was born on 15 November 1924 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was a military veteran serving in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. Waverly received his Master's Degree from the University of Iowa in 1953. He was retired from the Menominee Falls School System in Wisconsin as a social worker after twenty-four years of service. Waverly was an amateur racecar driver in Wisconsin and still holds many course records. He was educated to be a "hypnotist."

A Graveside service with Military Honors was held on Wednesday, 26 September 2012 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia where Chaplain Ralph McCann officiated.

Vigil Service at 7 PM and again on Wednesday at the church from 10 AM until
time of Mass. Burial will follow Mass at the Church Cemetery. In lieu of

Robert J. Larkin

      Robert J. Larkin passed away peacefully at the age of 93 years on Thursday, 20 September 2012. He was a resident of The Milwaukee Catholic Home; former resident of Mequon and Whitefish Bay. Beloved husband of the late Mary Jeanne (Sullivan) Larkin. Loving father of Kathleen (John) Larkin Hickey, Patty (Bette Warner) Larkin, and Sheila Larkin. Proud grandfather of Meghan (Jim Totten) Hickey, John (Tanya) Hickey III, Robert Larkin Hickey, Ruby Fu Larkin Warner and Rosa Xiaodan Larkin Warner. Adoring great-grandfather of Goldie Larkin Hickey and Samson Lee Hickey. Further survived by his nieces, nephew and other relatives and dear friends. Bob was preceded in death [by his parents Clement J. and Helen M. (McKeona) Larkin] and brothers, Reverend Ernest Larkin, O. Carm. and Reverend Jack [John] Larkin, O. Carm. and his sister Mary Margaret Larkin.

Bob's life was an example of a life well lived. His deep love for God, family and all of humankind was a shining light of inspiration to those who knew him. He was fiercely devoted to his family and his daughters are forever grateful for his unconditional love. An early health enthusiast, Bob was an avid runner, swimmer and cyclist committed to achieving his "personal best" until the end of his days. He was lovingly remembered as a church choir member, family camper, proud Irishman and people person. He was happiest when his whole family was together. Bob had a talent for connecting with people wherever he went, for listening and for learning their stories. He was a believer in community involvement and a lifelong volunteer. Bob was a third order Carmelite who began Catholic seminary studies as a high school student in Niagara, Canada. He was called home to support his family in Chicago when his father fell ill. Working days and studying nights, he eventually graduated from Marquette University. Bob was a Controller for Globe Union/Johnson Controls for over 30 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps in WWII.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 27 at St. Anne Chapel of The Milwaukee Catholic Home, 2462 North Prospect Avenue, Milwaukee, followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment took place in Sheffield, Illinois.

John Phillip Metzger

      John Phillip Metzger of MADISON/MILWAUKEE-
John Phillip Metzger fell asleep at the age of 95 years in Jesus on Friday, 21 September 2012. Father, businessman, and veteran, he was married for 52 years to the love of his life, Ruth Petermann Metzger, who preceded him in death.

Those who knew him will miss his sweet nature, his sense of humor and his stories. His children will especially miss him: Judith, from whom he received constant and loving care in his last years, Daniel and Nancy, Christine and Bob, Hans and Kris, David and Chris, and Elizabeth and Claude, as well as fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Born in Granville, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, he attended school in Newburg, Washington County and later moved with his family to Milwaukee.

He joined the United States Army in 1942 and proudly served his country during World War II. He was selected for Army Intelligence and was promoted to Master Sergeant. After the war he played a leading role in the founding of Metzger Machine & Engineering Company, and his business acumen contributed in large part to the company's success. He was exceedingly generous with his time and support in the work of the church, often chairing building and planning committees, and he served the Wisconsin Lutheran Synod in various roles. He was on the Board of Directors of Marshall & Ilsley Bank. During his residence in Madison, John enjoyed his "mile"-long walks in the Heritage Heights neighborhood.

His parents, Elisabeth and Henry, preceded him in death; as well as two sisters, Elisabeth and Ann; and five brothers, Henry, Peter, George, Andrew, and Phillip. His brother, Martin and his wife, Ruth survive; as well as his sister-in-law, Mary.

Memorial visitation was held at Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel, 220 West Gilman, Madison, with a service of Resurrection following on Friday, 28 Septenber. Memorial visitation was held at Atonement Lutheran Church, 4500 North Sherman Boulevard, Milwaukee with a service of Resurrection. Burial followed at Graceland Cemetery on Saturday, 29 September.
