Cesar Maes, also known as Skeets, of Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away comfortably at the age of 87 years on 27 December 2012.
Beloved husband of the late Virginia Blusiewicz. Loving father of Brian (fiancée Angela Pool) Maes, of Cedarburg, Dr. Paul Maes of Milwaukee and the late Bruce Maes. Proud grandfather of Mike (Rachel) Maes of Milwaukee, Megan Maes of Milwaukee and Lisa (Matt) Dresen of Milwaukee. Proud great-grandfather of Fiona Leigh Maes. Loving uncle of Geraldine (Tom) Shea of Conover, NC. Special friend of Dr. David Ferguson of Milwaukee, whom he regarded as a son.
Cesar was an Army combat veteran of WWII serving in Italy. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Cesar was an avid reader, enjoyed Lionel Trains, stamps and coin collecting. He will be sorely missed by his four puppies.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church, Cedarburg. Interment in St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation was on Monday, 31 December at St. Anthony Catholic Church, N74 W13604 Appleton Avenue, Menomonee Falls, followed by a Funeral Mass. Burial was at Sunnyside Cemetery, Lannon, Wisconsin.

Loving father of the late Jeff (Andrea), Richard, and Lori Torner (Chuck). Former beloved husband of their mother, Barbara. Proud grandfather of Jeffrey (Laura), Nick (Angela), Ben (Ashley), Rachel, Jenny, and Cathy. Loving partner and best friend of Bev Henn for thirty-two years. He was further survived by Bev's loving children Laurie (Ken), Cindy (Jim), Jeff (Cathy), and Steve (Diane), and Bev's grandchildren Nicole (Grady), Amy, Tyler, Lexy, Riley, Shelby, Darby, and Liam. Survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends, especially Dean, Bob, George, Paul and Don. In addition to his son Jeff, Dick was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Ruth (nee Hammond) Kunkel and brother Tom (Janet).
Richard was an avid woodworker, golfer, and cribbage player. He owned and operated numerous businesses in the area during his life; including Dick's Hometown Gas Station, Pogo's Pub, and Mildale Beer & Liquor.
Visitation for Dick will be on Wednesday, 12 December at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA. Graveside service was held on Thursday, 13 December at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery (N88 W13600 Main Street, Menomonee Falls).

Herbert P. Strupp

Herbert P. Strupp,also known as Herb, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin. USA, entered eternal life at Froedtert Health St. Joseph Hospital, West Bend at the age of 90 years on Sunday, 30 December 2012 . The eldest child of Nicholas Strupp and Kathryn (nee Wolf) Strupp, Herb was born on 10 May 1922, in Allenton, where he lived on the family farm and attended the local elementary school. He graduated from West Bend High School in 1940. During World War II, Herb served his country in the United States Army. He saw considerable action in the Pacific Theater where he suffered severe wounds to both legs and received the Purple Heart. Herbert was joined in Holy Matrimony to Evelyn A. Gerlach on 06 June 1947 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend. They joyfully celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. The couple had two children, Donald and Catherine. Evelyn predeceased on 16 December 2004.
For 40 years, Herbert worked with Burkhardt/Steiner Electric as a master electrician, retiring in 1985. He was a loyal member of the West Bend Fred A. Schaefer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1393 marching in all the West Bend parades since the war, Boy Scout Master for 25 years, long time bowling league member and a Red Cross volunteer. Herb loved life and lived every day to the fullest. He enjoyed camping with immediate and extended family in the 1960s, followed by years spent at the cottage fishing, boating and relaxing. An avid reader and amateur photographer for decades, Herb also enjoyed big band music, flower gardening and spending time in the outdoors, a love and appreciation he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to Herb.. He so dearly loved his wife, Evelyn, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, his numerous dogs, brother and sisters, and nieces and nephews. A sincere, reflective and quiet man, Herb will always be remembered for his gentle nature and temperament, support and helpfulness to family and friends, and his famous, contagious smile. Herb was happy and proud to be part of the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. on Sept. 15, 2012 and to share this experience with his son.
Herb was survived by his children, Donald (Penny) Strupp of Rhinelander and Catherine (John) Perronne of Hingham, grandchildren Nicholas Strupp of Rhinelander, Kate Perronne of Whitewater, Matthew (Tiffany) Farley of Pensacola, Florida, Robyn (Eugene) Reinke of Rhinelander, and great-granddaughter Aliyah Stroik. He was also survived by a sister, Eleanore Peters, sisters- in-law Leatrice Strupp, and Rosemary Parchim, brother-in-law Ralph Rosbeck, and loving and caring companion of five years Eleanor Holzmann. He was further survived by many relatives, friends, and special nieces and nephews who “will miss Uncle Herbie’s advice, positive attitude, and big smile.” In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a loving brother Edward, a sister Lucille Albinger, brothers and sisters-in-law, and close cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, 05 January at Holy Angels Catholic Church where Reverend Gerald Brittain presided. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. The family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Saturday.

Harold Bates of Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away peacefully at Horizon Hospice Columbia St. Mary Ozaukee Campus, at the
age of 84 years, on Friday, 28 December 2012. Harold was born in Milwaukee on 07 July 1928, son of Alvin and Louise (nee Dorn) Bates. He married Delores Capello in Milwaukee on 18 March 1950. Harold was a United States Navy veteran, serving his country in World War II.
He was survived by his wife, Delores, of Cedarburg; children, Alan of Cedarburg and Christine of Cedarburg; a brother, Gilbert (Helen) Bates of Milwaukee; and sister-in-law, Janice Bates of Appleton. Harold was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wesley.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, 02 January at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, W63 N527 Hanover Avenue in Cedarburg. Interment followed in Cedarburg at Immanuel Cemetery. Visitation was at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Robert Leeson

Robert Leeson, also known as Bob, of Apache Junction, Arizona, formerly of Fond du Lac, and Slinger, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed on to eternal life at the age of 94 years on Friday, 28 December 2012. Robert was born in Hammond, Indiana on 03 February 1918, son of Robert E. and Flora M. (nee Goebel) Leeson.
Bob was an United States Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and received the “Million Mile” safety award while driving truck for International Paper Company in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Bob was a model railroad enthusiast for most of his life and touched many hearts with his beautiful train displays. He was always very active in his faith, where he could often be heard playing his guitar and singing the Lord’s praises with his first wife, Alma. Bob was a great husband to both his wife Alma, and his wife Elaine, and all who have been touched by his great love, that he shared freely, will dearly miss him. For all of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, greatgreat- grandchildren, and his many friends, he was their teacher by example.
Bob was survived by his wife Elaine Smet; eight children and four stepchildren: Robert (Lois) Leeson, Sharon Nelson, Richard (Kay) Leeson, Ken (Pat) Leeson, Judi Royse, Nancy (Warren) White, Betty (Roger) Patterson, Julie (Joe) Cox, Pattie Smet, Julie (Jim) Maurer, Kitty (Mark) Kastelic, and Jimmy (Michelle) Smet; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Helen Johnson, Delores Commings, and Leona Petri. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Lee St. Clair; five sisters; two brothers; one son-in-law; and one granddaughter.
The funeral service was on Monday, 07 January at Community Church, N6717 Streblow Drive, Fond du Lac, where Reverend David Mundt officiated. The visitation was on Monday at church. Entombment followed on Monday at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park.

William L. Reinke

William L. Reinke,also known as Bill, of Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Horizon Hospice in Mequons on 06 January 2013 at the age of 76 years. Bill was born in Shawano on 10 June 1936, son of Matthew and LaVerne (nee Herm) Reinke, who both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Karen Katzenmeyer on 09 November 1957, and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 15 October 1955 to 23 July 1959. He worked as a marketing manager for the Eaton Corp. (formerly Cutler Hammer) for 34 years. Bill was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he served as a head usher for many years. He was also a member of the Ozaukee Senior Golf League. Bill enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He loved working in his yard, along with repairing and refinishing anything that needed fixing. Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed being a Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packers fan. He traveled all over the world for business and pleasure.

Paul K. Stier, also know as Butch, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at SynergyHealth St. Joseph Hospital, West Bend on
Saturday, 03 March 2007 at the age of 80 years. Paul was born in West Bend on 17 June 1926, son of Francis and Nettie (nee Tuskey) Stier. Butch graduated from West Bend High School in 1944 and then served in the United States Army in the Pacific during World War II. On 25 June 1955 Butch was united in marriage to Audrey Herbrand at St. Luke Church in Waukesha. He was employed at the Gehl Company for 37 years, retiring in 1988, and was a member of the Hexelbank Club. He owned and operated Butch’s Sport Shop in West Bend until 1962. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Butch loved to build custom fishing rods and rigs. He loved American Water Spaniels and had seven of them as pets throughout the years. Butch and Audrey enjoyed traveling and loved going to Ignace, Ontario, Canada. They traveled to Ignance every year since 1961 and in 1988 they began spending their summers there. Butch was a very faithful servant of Christ. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend for many years and served in many leadership positions at the church. At present, he was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum.
Paul was survived by his wife, Audrey; three children, Reverend Sharon Stier of West Bend, Kenneth (Julie) Stier of Wind Lake and Laurie (Ron) O’Farrell of San Diego, California; five grandchildren, Natalie and Kylie Stier, Ryan, Donovan and Caitlin O’Farrell; a sister, Nancy (George) Kraemer of West Bend; two brothers-in-law George (Norma) Herbrand and Warren Herbrand, both of Waukesha; other relatives and friends. Preceding Paul in death were an infant daughter, Linda; a sister, Shirley Ackerman; and a brother, Earl Stier.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, 08 March at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First Street, Kewaskum, where Reverend Eric Kirkegaard and Reverend William Wiederanders officiated.
Visitation was at the church on Thursday. Burial followed on Friday at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Paul was survived by his wife, Audrey; three children, Reverend Sharon Stier of West Bend, Kenneth (Julie) Stier of Wind Lake and Laurie (Ron) O’Farrell of San Diego, California; five grandchildren, Natalie and Kylie Stier, Ryan, Donovan and Caitlin O’Farrell; a sister, Nancy (George) Kraemer of West Bend; two brothers-in-law George (Norma) Herbrand and Warren Herbrand, both of Waukesha; other relatives and friends. Preceding Paul in death were an infant daughter, Linda; a sister, Shirley Ackerman; and a brother, Earl Stier.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, 08 March at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First Street, Kewaskum, where Reverend Eric Kirkegaard and Reverend William Wiederanders officiated.
Visitation was at the church on Thursday. Burial followed on Friday at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

John O. Cleveland

Funeral services will be held for John O. Cleveland of Harrison Home in Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, on 08 March 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church (1193 Lakefield Road) in Grafton. John passed away peacefully on Friday, 02 March at the age of 94. Friends greeted the family at the church on Thursday. Interment with full military honors followed on Friday at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Pewaukee, Waukesha County.
John was born on 07 November 1912 in Webster City, Hamilton County, Iowa where he was raised on a dairy farm. He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University in 1935. John was drafted during World War II and served in the Philippines, rising to the rank of Lt. Col. in the United States Army. After the war, he worked for the United States Army Corps of Engineers for many years. In 1955, John moved to Long Island, New Youk to work for a civilian engineering company. In 1975, he and his wife Agnes moved to Tennessee where they hand built their retirement home. They lived there for 20 years before moving to Mequon in 1995. About five years ago, when his health no longer permitted independent living, John moved to Cedarburg. During his retirement years his hobbies were repairing antique clocks and woodworking.
John was survived by his daughter Kay (the Reverend Ellsworth) Freyer of Mequon; son Dick Cleveland of Innsbrook Estates, Missouri; and daughter Sandi (Charles) Fasano of Evergreen, Colorado. He was further survived by 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his wife Agnes; and his daughter Patty Mueller.

Cyril N. Wietor

Cyril N. Wietor, also known as Cy, of Kewaskum, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away unexpectedly at SynergyHealth St. Joseph Hospital in the town of Polk on Thursday, 08 March 2007 ar the age of 84 years. Cyril was born in the town of Wayne on 11 January 1923, son of Frank and Minnie (nee Serwe) Wietor. On 01 October 1947, he was united in marriage to Marie Hanrahan at St. Bridget Catholic Church in the town of Wayne. Cy was a graduate of PioNono High School in Milwaukee. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier and was a member of the Kewaskum Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384. Cyril was employed by Regal Ware Inc. in Kewaskum, retiring in 1988 after 42 years of service. He was a member of their 25-Year Club. Cy served as a village of Kewaskum trustee and president. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum where he served on the parish council, and was a referee for Holy Trinity Catholic School basketball. He was a member of the West Bend Knights of Columbus Father Casper Rehrl Council 1964, Our Lady of Holy Hill Assembly 1677, the Kettle Moraine Sportsman’s Club and a former member of the Kewaskum Sno-Chiefs. Cy was a charter member of Hon-E-Kor Country Club in Kewaskum and was in charge of the Monday Retired Golf League. He was active in establishing Little League in Kewaskum and was an avid golfer, hunter and bowler. His greatest life pleasures were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cy will fondly be remembered for his sense of humor and will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.

Robert F. Steger

Robert F. Steger of Iron Ridge, Dodge County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital on Wednesday, 07 March 2007 at the age of 72 years.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Bernice Liegl in 2005. He and Bernice were married in Mayville on 01 September 1956. Robert was also preceded in death by his parents William and Esther Steger who welcomed him into the world in West Bend on 27 May 1934.
He was survived by his loving children, Nancy Steger and Todd Steger of Milwaukee and Craig (Krista) Steger of Boston; his siblings Shirley (Tom) Leichtle of West Bend and Audrey (Stanley) Wagner of Neosho; as well as his grandchildren Maddie, Ryan and Benjamin. Robert was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Robert was retired from Mayville Metal Products. He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Robert was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church of Mayville and he enjoyed golf and bowling.

Harold Bushee of Grafton, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away on Monday, 12 March 2007 at the age of 67 years. Harold was the beloved husband of Dale Kaufman; loving father of David (Nancy), Dan (Mary) and Glenn (Deborah); dear brother of Lena Mone; and the son-in-law of Charlotte Kaufman. He was further survived by his 10 grandchildren Angela, Matthew, Michelle, Travis, Justine, Shoshana, Chana, Eli, Liora and Natan; his great-granddaughter Makayla; his special niece Barbara and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held on 15 March at the Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton. In state in the afternoon at the funeral home.

Donald L. Grossen, also known as Don, of Campbellsport died at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac on Tuesday, 20 March 2007 at the age of 70 years. Donald was born in Fond du Lac on 20 January 1937, son of Fred and Esther (nee Templin) Grossen. On 11 October 1969, he married Patricia Rahn at St. Matthew’s Church in Campbellsport. Don was a lifelong member of Campbellsport United Church of Christ. He served his country in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and was a member of the Lomira Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347. Don worked at Best Tech Tool in West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, until retiring, and operated Ashford Satellite and Antenna Service. He served as treasurer for the town of Ashford for 36 years. Don enjoyed his antenna work and woodworking, and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandson.

Norman Grosz

Norman Grosz of Armour, South Dakota died at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls on Wednesday, 21 March 2007 at the age of 81 years. Norman was born near Armour on 01 February 1936 , son of Reinhold and Dorothy (nee Blume) Grosz. He attended country school near Corsica and Armour, graduating from Armour High School in 1943. Norman entered the United States Navy on 16 June 1943, serving on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania, and was discharged on 14 January 1947. He married Catherine Bigge on 19 October 1950 in Armour. Norman and his dad owned a trucking business, then he worked at the Mink Ranch in Armour. He moved to West Bend and worked as a machinist at Weasler Engineering, retiring in 1988, then moving back to Armour. Norman was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour, the Knights of Columbus and VFW. He enjoyed bowling and gardening.

James Bernell Weis, also known as Jim, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at Kathy Hospice on Tuesday, 20 March 2007 after 79 years of life.
James was born in Milwaukee on 05 March 1928, son of William A. and Frances (nee Rozek) Weis. He played professional baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1940s. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On 26 September 1953, he married the love of his life, Bernadine "Bernie" Brzezinski at St. Casimir Church in Milwaukee, and later, they began a family of their own. Jim was a dedicated employee of the city of Milwaukee in various departments throughout his years there. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, Packers and Brewers fan and a huge lover of dogs. Jim will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his ability to get the laughs rolling. He was a great husband, and above all else, most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and making them laugh. Jim was active in the Catholic Church ministries, was a member of the VFW, sang in a barbershop quartet and once conducted the Sammy K Orchestra.
Jim was deeply missed and forever loved by his beloved wife of 53 years and best friend, Bernadine; his loving children, Bill (Deb) Weis of Germantown, Bob (Sue) Weis of Illinois, John (Chris) Weis of Racine, Diane (John) Todd of West Bend, Chris (Nick) Pritzl of West Bend and Mary (Doug) Bruening of Pewaukee; his treasured grandchildren, Janice, Melissa, Jim, Michael, Timothy, Sarah, Alison, David, Rosie, Nick, Shelly, Andrea, Katie, Amanda, Rachel, Samantha, Matthew, Megan, Andrew and Joseph; his cousins, Paul Bruno and Gerry Mills; and his sisters-in-law, Arlene Tadyshak and Gerry Korol. Jewel O. Aker

Jewel O. Aker of Slinger, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, formerly of Colton, South Dakota passed away at the age of 86 years at Kathy Hospice in West Bend on Friday, 23 March 2007. Jewel was born in Aurora, South Dakota on 28 October 1920, son of Palmer and Selma (nee Wastrum) Aker. He married Clara Geddes in Mitchell, South Dakota on 30 October 1948. Jewel worked as a sheet metal worke and had owned a blacksmith shop in Colton. After retiring, he helped his son with a tree service business. Jewel served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, serving overseas with the 322nd Troop Carrier Wing in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Jewel was survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Richard) Lexa of West Bend and Sharon (Brian) Blair of Hartford; a son, Ronald (Sandy) Aker of California; six grandchildren, Tom (Jenni), Adam, Julia, Stephanie, Eliza-beth, Rachael and Chad; a great-grandchild, Samantha Grace; three sisters, Maxine Steinfeldt of South Dakota, Shirley (Don) Van Wyne-Turgeon of Kansas and Sally Aker of Montana; two brothers, James (Cookie) Aker of Tennessee and Ray (Adelyn) Aker of Delaware. He was further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara; his son, Rodney; and two brothers, Russell and Clayton.
Funeral service for Jewel was held on Tuesday, 27 March at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street, Hartford, where Reverend Robert Kirchman officiated. The family greeted relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home on Tuesday. There was also a time of visitation on Thursday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Colton with a funeral service on Friday at the First Lutheran Church, 403 East Third Street, Colton where Reverend Steve Martens officiated. Interment was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Colton.

Frank A. Pingolt

Frank A. Pingolt died in Stuart, Florida on 08 January 2013 at the age of 78 years. Frank was born in Sheboygan on 20 October 1934, son of Frank and Linda (nee Ruppel) Pingolt. Frank worked on mink farms until he went into the Air Force and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. He came home to marry his sweetheart, and they raised a family in Cedarburg.
Frank retired from Harley-Davidson with 32 years of service. After retirement, Frank and his wife bought a home on Long Lake to spend their summers and in Stuart, Florida, to spend their winters.
He is survived by his children, Dawn (Rob) Holyoke of Thiensville, Mark (Cindy) Pingolt of Stuart, Fla., David (Debbie) Pingolt of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Jennifer (Dan) Barribeau of West Bend; grandchildren, Becky, Kate, Michael and Ella; great-grandchildren, Quentin and Liam; brothers, Donald (Shirley) and LeRoy (Judy) Pingolt; sister, Nancy (Ted) Black; other relatives and friends.

Clifford R. Sayre Sr.

Clifford R. Sayre Sr. of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at Cedar Community on Saturday, 05 January 2013 at the age of 92 years. Clifford was born in Boston, Massachusetts on 04 August 1920, son of Allan and Olga (nee Hansen) Sayre. When Cliff was 6, the family moved to Wakefield, New Hamshire along with Grandpa Sayre. He graduated from East Wakefield Grade School and went on to attend Rochester High School, a 28-mile train ride and 3-mile walk from home. Due to the poor economy and his father’s illness, Cliff went to work during his third year of high school. He later completed the high school requirements with his GED and went on to take various college programs to further his educational and technical needs. Cliff was always an active reader and self teacher and was noted for his collection of engineering and technical texts. On 12 July 1943, Cliff was united in marriage to Irene Elizabeth Mullaney in the Rectory of St. John Catholic Church in Quincy, Massachusetts. Irene preceded Cliff in death at the age of 39 years on 29 May 1963. On 08 February 1969, Cliff was united in marriage to his second wife, Estelle Pelletier-Kowalski at the Great Lakes Chapel in Waukegan, Illinois. In 1979 they moved to Mountain Home, Arizona before making West Bend their home in 1986. Estelle preceded Cliff in death on 14 July 2010.
Cliff worked for a building contractor before taking a job as an electrician for the ship building division of Bethleham Steel Corporation where he moved up to electrical group leader. At the outbreak of World War II, Cliff joined the United States Navy and went to sea aboard a new Navy destroyer he had helped build when he was group leader. His ship was engaged in 38 hostile encounters during a 3 1/2year period. Cliff re-enlisted at the end of the war due to the unstable post-war job market and ended up making the Navy a career for 22 years. He served eight years on destroyers, four years in ship repair facilities, another eight years as Electrician School instructor, and his last years as electrical officer aboard a Marine troop transport at the onset of the Vietnam War. By the time of his retirement, Cliff had advanced to master chief electrician. After his Naval retirement, Cliff worked for Abbott Lab as a training director and for Technical Publishing as an editor. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Mason 4th degree at Ossipee Valley Lodge 74 in Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, Medinah Shrine Temple, and VFW Post 3246 Mountain Home, Arizona. Cliff enjoyed extensive travel throughout the United States.

Hubert W. Vogt, also known as Hubie, 79, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in the town of Polk on Tuesday, 08 January 2013 at the age of 79 years. Hubert was born in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County on 25 March 1933, son of Hubert and Mary (nee Rach) Vogt. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 stationed in Germany. On 12 December 1959, Hubert was united in marriage at Zion Church in Embarrass, Waupaca County to Laverne Dumke. After returning from military service, Hubert farmed on the family farm in the town of Polk, Washington County. He then worked at Cooley’s Inc. in West Bend for 10 years before working for the town of Polk. He later returned to work at Cooley’s until his retirement in October 1998. Hurbert was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend. He loved farm toys and tractors and he also enjoyed tractor pulling and playing sheepshead.
Hubert was survived by his wife, Laverne; three children, Donald (Donna) Vogt of Campbellsport, Debra (Timothy) Williams of West Bend, and James Vogt of West Bend; four grandchildren, Michelle Williams, Nicole Williams, Becky Vogt, and Bryce Vogt; two sisters, Hildegarde Rolfs of Plover, and Gertrude Guenther of Oconomowoc; two brothers, George (June) Vogt of Venice, Forida, and Robert (Ardene) Vogt of West Bend; a sister- in-law, Ethel Koeller of Embarrass; a brother in- law, Gordon Klemp of Clintonville; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and his “Grandpuppy” Roxi. Richard B. Scott, also known as Dick, was surrounded by his loving family on his final day when he died at the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, 09 January 2013 at the age of 83 years. Dick was born in Detroit, Michigan on 18 December 1929, son of Bruce R. and Elsie D. (nee Gilson) Scott. He was raised in Ontonagon, Michigan graduating from Ontonagon Area High School in 1947. After graduation Richard enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served three years active duty and then joined the reserves. After serving his country, Dick attended ACME School of Tool and Die Design in South Bend, Indiana. His education was interrupted while he recovered from a serious automobile accident, fell in love and married Clara May Colclasure in March of 1955. After graduation, Dick began what would become some 30 years with the West Bend Aluminum Company in West Bend. It was in West Bend that Dick and Clara raised two sons and a daughter. Upon his semi-retirement, he and Clara moved to Tucson, Arizona. Three years ago, in 2009, they moved back to Wisconsin and settled in Amery to be close to family, especially their grandchildren. Dick enjoyed warm days spent on a cool patio, “toddy time,” cooking on the grill, tinkering, a good book and music with “some life to it.” He loved time spent with family and friends.
Survivors included his wife, Clara of Amery; children Bruce (Kathleen), Amery, Timothy (Louise), Cambridge, and Catherine, Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren Tyler, Nichole, Madeline and Elizabeth; sister Merrie Carol (James) Daniels; sister-inlaw Stella Giesau, sister-in-law Shirley (Edward) Skoviak, brotherin- law Jack (Bonnie) Colclasure, brother-i n-law Michael Rubich and sister-in- law Katherine Colclasure; and many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law Roscoe and Nancy Colclasure; his brother Robert Scott; and brother-in-law Merle Colclasure, sister-in-law Mary Jane Rubich and brother-in-law Robert Colclasure.
Funeral service was held on Monday, 14 January in the Congregational Church in Amery where Reverend Barry Schaefer officiated. Visitation was at the Williamson-White Funeral Home on Sunday and prior to the service at the church.
