Family Testimonial:   November 2008, By Mary Louise (Schulteis) Jensen, niece, and Thomas Earl Schulteis, nephew: After emigrating from Germany in 1929, the Habenicht family lived in Milwaukee for a short time, then relocated to what is now W140 N11017 County Aire Drive in Germantown. When he was 22 years old, his cousin from Pennsylvania offered him a job as a truck driver. Uncle Frank received his draft papers and was inducted from Pennsylvania. When he was discharged from Fitzsimmons Army Hospital, he lived with us until our mom, Matilda, his sister, was no longer able to care for him. He was admitted to the Samaritan Home in West Bend which was the place of his death.

Uncle Frank did not served in the Korean War but was in a veterans hospital at that time. He was drafted, served time in Germany, and was given a medical discharge when a tank he was driving exploded and he was hit in the head by a piece of metal. Our uncle never married.
